Someone was saying the other night that in 09 and 10 the Birds have Ryle on their schedule twice both years. :confused:

 

Didn't they try this in '07 & '08, but had problems with the scheduling?

Highlands looked pretty good yesterday considering they are very young for a JV team. I believe there were 33 kids there yesterday. 2 Frosh, 30 Soph, 1 Jr. Very young goup who should be impact players next yr for sure and some definately stepping up this year.

I believe True was the punter, and New was the back-up QB. True had a couple of punts, and New didn't play.

I guess that answers who will be starting at QB for the Bird Frosh.

That would be Kevin Duenas, Corey Compton and Ryan Hahn for the Birds. All very solid players and all Sophomores.

 

Corey's older brother is Jamie Hubbard, one of the workhorse backs from the 2004 state championship team. Jamie also wore #25.

Coop he plays JV also? I thought he would be the starting Varsity RB for Ryle this year! He impressed the heck out of me when they played CovCath, and yes he is Cody little (only little in age to Cody, not size) brother!

Everyone better get their shots in at Ryle this year... they will be tough in a few years.

Ryle has two other RB's that are very good - Keifer Eubanks, who is extremely fast, and Jaran Peace, who is an absolute bruiser. Elliott is certainly good and will only get better, but for now he will have to wait his turn behind two other high quality backs.

As do I. I believe come end of the year Ryle will sport a very good record and be ranked just behind Highlands in NKY. They have an outstanding defense and an offense that will get much better as the season goes on.
