Not taking anything away from Wayne or Corbin but Danville is always horrible in scrimmages. It looks like they are just out there going through the motions for 2 weeks until there real season starts. Then once again after they get past the Boyle County game it looks like they are going through the motions again until it's time for the playoffs.

They had better not "go through the motions" this year or a repeat of '07 is sure to happen. If they aren't focused week in and week out, an early exit in the playoffs awaits. They have talent-I am anxious to see what they do with it and if they come together as a team. All I ever hear is about their lack of senior leadership; they had better have loads of it this year to make a run.

If Wayne plays like they did last night against two top teams they will be more than a darkhorse. Wayne has to work on the depth. To win at a top level you have to have numbers.

 

Wayne may be good enough to win the District but they will not be a factor in the playoffs. No one from their District will be this season.

The offensive senior leader will be the quaterback, Trey Grey, I saw him before the scrimmage and he was all business, I thought he showed good leadership on the field, he also showed some agressive play by running over a would be tackler on their first offensive series. The defense needs a senior leader to emerge, could be Devan Hester, he got a little nasty on the second defensive series. I want to see this team show more agressive play.

But with that being said I think Wayne has an excellent chance to win the district, I just don't think any of the teams in that district will be able to win the region.

Corbins line really surprised me. It looks to me like Corbin is going back to traditional Redhound football.

 

Who started on the line other than Hayden, Taylor & Creech? I understand they played with double TE's with Manns & French at those positions and ran the ball really well.

I think there are alot of kids rotating on the line. Mills, Morris, Taylor, Jessie and Barton are playing alot. Creech has been injured and did not play according to my sources.

According to my sources Corbin did very well running the ball as well as blocking. Taylor was moved to the right side to take up where Creech had to sit out. This helped to balance the line. We scored on a pass play and almost without exception those that attended are reporting very positive things. GO HOUNDS!!!!

As of now the line is: Hayden, Mills, Morris, Taylor, and Lewallen. And its good to see Lewallen back after shoulder surgery last year, because he had potential to be good last year. Now he has his junior and senior year left and he should shine!
