It is hard for kids from the Mountains to get looked at by Colleges!!! It is very good football but, I also don't think mountain kids get out and go to the camps during the summers and show what they have, that would make the colleges want to look at more mountain kids!

Winston is 5-11 and 172 lbs. Sees the hole well and explodes. He runs very hard and that, combined with his speed, makes him a very good running back.

Hopefuuly, he will have another great year and get some looks from the Division I Level. I feel he can handle up to 185-190 lbs. in College.

Should read Hopefully. SLINK

Rico Brown is 5'11" 185 lbs. Junior. This kid runs a low 4.5 and has been getting looks from Western, Purdue, and Louisville. The kids is a beast in the weightroom, and works out with 225 on cleans which is impressive. Rico has good vision, and explodes to the hole. I think from what I have heard he will be recruited as a corner or safety, but is a true D1 prospect.

How bout naming some seniors that may not get the big D I attention but can play D II and maybe small D I from your areas. IMO these are a few I that I saw last year of that have gave 110% the whole game with there projected positions at next level.

Bolander actually played DT for Lewis last season. He finished his Jr. year with 90 tackles, 16 total tackles for a loss with 7 of them being sacks. He is playing the nose for their 3-5-3 defense this yr. He will be drawing double and triple teams this year as well, if not, he will take the handoff from the quarterback. :fire: Jake has been contacted by several schools, a great kid on and off the field, we wish him the best. Good luck Lions....:ylsuper:

Hoptown has Outside LB that has been getting alot of attention lately. Derrick Dillard 6'2 195Lbs 4.6 forty also starts at Wr. This guy is a hitting machine. Played Safety but moved to OLB this year as he got bigger. Brother started and was the team caption of Alabama for two years in the late 1990's. Has around 3.0 grade avarage and is a great kid.

Dillard laid some folks out at Tilghman last week. Hoptown also has a 6'4", 220 lb, 4.9 40 tight end that isn't getting alot of attention. He's a transfer from Missouri (military), 4.0 grades, good hands, and a heck of a blocker.

South Laurel has 4 D-1 prospects on their team this season? I saw no evidence of that last year.

Me neither I couldn't tell by anything that they have done.

Its all about speed. If you have speed, you will get recruited. As far as linemen, you have to have the current blocking techniques and footwork. While being tough is great, you can't just be tough.

Also, everybody is spreading the field these days. Many of the mountains schools only want to bust you in the mouth. While it will win games, it does limit recruiting chances.
