Mid-America College of Funeral Service

Featured Replies

Do you know anyone who has attended this college? Or do you personally know a Funeral Director or Mortician?

The college is located at 3111 Hamburg Pike in Jeffersonville, Indiana, the northeast sector of the greater Louisville, Kentucky metropolitan area, including Jefferson County, Kentucky and Clark and Floyd Counties of Southern Indiana.

Does anyone know the neighborhood around this college? Like is it a good/bad one, places to shop/eat, ect.

BTW, if you hadn't realized by now after reading this, I am pondering very seriously on going to this school next Spring/March & was wanting some sort of feedback. What kind of feedback I'm not sure but feedback nonetheless.

Actually, I'm trying the other option which is staying alive & graduating.

Don't know anyone who has attended this college but I do know a Funeral Director. I have some knowledge about funeral homes and know some people in this business. It can be very depressing but the client never complains about the services he/she receives.

No, they don't say much do they. They are the best at freeze-tag too.

I've known a few funeral directors. It is a great vocation for someone with the right personality type. Yes, it can certainly be depressing, but you are also providing a valuable service to people in a time of great need.

It can be a very lucrative career, and there will be no shortage of business.

So the biggest thing is to get some good Career Counselling, and make sure that this is a "fit" for you.

P.S. If you go for it, you will have to change your BGP name. The Count or Digger come immediately to mind.

I got a friend in the one in Jeffersonville, I will email her and see what she can tell me.

A good friend of mine went to the place that you are talking about and she worked in this business for over 30 years and loved it.

I live in southern indiana near where you are talking about. If you will give me the address I will try to find it and tell you what it looks like. This area is a nice area to live in and hey, I'm only 7 miles from Jeffersonville - now that should make up your mind quickly:lol:

Please let me know what I can find out for you and I will snoop for you if you wish:thumb:

oops you gave me the address....sorry...let me get with MrRk tonight and by tomorrow I will know where to go looking.......

Oh and I forgot to say that I am friends with another family of funeral directors and one of those friends is now the head of all the medical examers (?) in Kentucky. These people have made a really...really good living and truly enjoy what they do.
