June 9, 200818 yr How does this affect HB's emotions??? I'm sad that I will not get to see him play anymore, but happy for him. I know his body has been through a lot during his time in the NFL and it's time for him to relax now. He was working out at Giants stadium earlier this off season though, so I still wouldn't be "shocked" to see him come back and play, but I don't think it is likely. I'm 99% sure he is done. Everyone else agree that he is a first ballot hall of famer?

Sometime during the last few weeks, Michael Strahan sat down and made a list of reasons why he should play again in 2008 and the goals he thought he still wanted to accomplish. When he looked at the list, though, he noticed something disturbing: He had a lot of individual goals listed - like reaching 150 career sacks - but he didn’t have many team-oriented goals left at all. “That’s not enough for me to keep playing,” Strahan told his agent, Tony Agnone. That was the moment when Strahan apparently first made up his mind to retire after 15 NFL seasons. But before he announced it, Strahan wanted to be sure. So Agnone told his client to think about his decision some more, “and if you’re not feeling it by mini-camp,” Agnone said, “maybe it’s time to call it a day.” On Sunday night, Agnone got a call from Strahan, who said “Guess what? June 10, 200818 yr Giants co-owner John Mara on Strahan's retirement... “Michael called me earlier this morning to tell me he had decided to retire,” Mara said. “I told him I was disappointed and that I knew he could still play at a very high level and we were hoping to have him back. But I certainly understand his decision. I told him he’s been a great Giant. He thanked me for everything the organization has done for him. I said, ‘I think you’ve done more for us than we can ever do for you.’”
June 10, 200818 yr Great for Strahan. He went out on top. He is a 1st ballot HOFer, and will be just as good as a sports caster.

June 10, 200818 yr Not sure he is first ballot...his season sack record was suspicious (Favre gift) and he is 5th in sacks all time where#3 and #4 Doleman and Kevin Greene are not in HOF...BUT he has great charisma, he went out on top and while he falls short of the top tier of Reggie White, Howie Long, and Bruce Smith, he should get in at the top of the 2nd tier. I definitely like listening to him on talk shows.

Super bowl championship. 7 pro bowls. I think he gets in on the first ballot.

He does it on purpose? :lol: I guess he planned the way he'd look while inside his momma's belly. :lol: Just because he doesn't want to fix his teeth means absolutely nothing. Don't get offended, I'm not. I never said Strahan was God Almighty, so the little snide remarks are unnecessary. I don't think I've ever judged a person (whether I like them or not) on their teeth, that's all. I like to consider things other than the looks of a person before making a decision on whether or not I like them.
