What was Jenkins totals for the weekend? Hood is good but Jenkins hasn't had the coverage like him yet. After July everyone will be all over him, BCG should put the papers in the mail and sign him now.

I don't think that will happen.:argue:

The 16 year-old has some work to do. Jenkins averaged just over 20 in three pool games. One player I was really was impressed with was Pittman. If he continues to develop he will make a strong case to the in-state schools down the road.

What happen to Jenkins and Team Kentucky, I really thought they would have had a upset or two this weekend.

We (Team Kentucky) had a very good group of 5 starters, a couple of people on the bench gave us some minutes to rest the starters here and there, we were maybe one player that could give us some serious minutes away from some key wins.

Had a couple of good players who we were expecting to play that didn't, one who did very well for us two weeks ago for some unknown and strange reason wasn't going to play, then one decided at the last minute to go to some football combine or something in Cincinnati just one of these two would have helped a lot!

The first game Vs Shinning Stars was a very good game, got out to a 12-0 lead, we just let it slip away with some mistakes towards the end of the game. Team KY had the lead most of the game, but Shinning Stars just never gave up and played as a team ti take it away. Again, depth hurt us, But we made a game of it.

We'll continue to get better in the next few days/weeks.

Team Kentucky plays the Shinning Stars at 10:30 this morning. Then Kentucky will play the DSAS at 1:30 PM, then the KY Thunder at 6 PM, all on court #1.

Team Kentucky did practice at UK's Joe Kraft Center last night for a few hours to try and find a way to stay close to the two Titan teams of Shinning Stars and DSAS. You are correct on your last sentence RR ;)

Not sure what the fascination is with team kentucky, as they go 0-3 in pool play and are a non-factor in the tournament.

If they had a kid who could play at UK, how do they fail to win a game in pool play, and lose by a bunch in their last two games?

They don't have a kid that can play at UK.

Hood is the frontrunner. Jenkins had a busted back with a pulled muscle from the tournament the prior week and hopes to be ready for Bob Gibbon's tourney in NC next week. They did give the Shining Stars a good game while jumping out to a 17 - 4 lead and led going into the 4th quarter. Not enough depth and rebounding to hold the lead. No excuses though, other teams played well and hats-off to the Shining Stars 17 and 16s as well.
Hope he heals quickly. I watched him play one game last weekend I couldn't tell he was bothered by injury. He made some tough shots (don't know how many he scored). Looked like what bothered him most was the defense that was played against him.

FIRST, It's MY TEAM! So yeah, I think I have an interest in the team and all, so thanks! Second, they are KIDS! and many on here LOVE sports and watching the competitions. A LOT of people out there want to read the good stuff of youth sports and keep up with the players and or teams that interests them.

A team playing in a hard pool, any team could would have a hard time winning Vs very good programs like DSAS and Shinning Stars. A team that is changing players trying to find the right combination Vs two teams that have had many practices together as well as many games/tourneys together. A team that for all practical purposes only go 5 deep, with really just one player who can give you some mins of relief, and another less than the first off the bench, Vs two teams that can go deep into their bench. Plus, some may have seen us working on Jenkins back at times, he wasn't 100%.

One player from our good showing in Bloomington had baseball and could not make it, he would have added a lot this week, he did a very good job for us last week as he always does. Another decided he wanted to attend a football combine or something in Cincinnati, he too would have added a little depth. One player whp played very well for us two weeks ago for some strange reason wasn't interested in playing ball this weekend, had other things to do. Depth hurt, well the lack of it. But, we tried with what hand we were dealt this weekend, the first 7 quarters of the tourney we did good, just not good enough.

Ask Stowers about us being a non-factor as you put it, The team played well Vs his team, he had the bench and took over the lead in the closing minutes, we were just one quality player away from winning, But not taking away from Stowers and his team they did a great job coming back and winning. Vs DSAS we were at 45-47 at one point, then DSAS took over, you lose your only real big man you better start shooting, we could not get that done. Ferguson was unreal out there drainning the 3's, he had a hand in his face for most of them, typical Elliott Co player/3' point shooter, I should know, I had Maynard last year, he had a great game and they took advantage of it. The last game some of the team just gave up, plus the 5 starters being very tired as they basically played the first two games with little relief.

Again, pool 1 with Shinning Stars and DSAS was a very strong pool, if we were in the other pool we had a better chance at coming out of it. But what was the KBA going to do after CC dropped out on Thurs? Everyone had the game times and some teams/coaches may not have been able to change their scheduled game times on Sat so late.

We played a very good tourney for 7 quarters, then we went down to 4 starters which hurt. Nothing we can do about this week, just focus on the next weekend and try and tinker a bit more and play like we did in Bloomington, and the first 7 quarters this past weekend.

It was either sit out his last AAU tourney or tough it out and play with the back pain, he chose to play. He tried physical therapy at Kort all last week and used meds to reduce the pain and it helped enough to take the court. Hopefully the folks at Kort can have him ready for this weekend. And make no mistake, the defenses were tough.

This may be true about the Derek Smith All Stars, but it is not true at all about the Shining Stars. This weekend was the first time that the Shining Stars had all their players at the same time, and that wasn't even until the two games on Sunday, after they played team Kentucky. This was the first time that Vee Sanford has played with them as well. You make it sound like they have played alot together and that is simply untrue. They rarely have a practice and are at full strength.

The Shining Stars were impressive, played well together, and had depth. They are only going to get better.

But they do have a MUCH deeper bench, you have to admit that. ;)
