I think Raceland, LCA, Campbellsville, and Hazard are on a crash course for each other.

Time will definately tell that the Jackets are PRETENDERS this year.

I think very few posters think Williamsburg is a pretender. They probably return as much, or more, than C'ville, who I think should be the favorite. Lynn Camp's D may have something to say about who wins what, but the Cats have to prove they can move the ball to be considered one of the contenders. Last time LC beat W'burg was 2005 in an ugly game, something like 64 - 8. The others were competitive and the game last year was the freak injury to start the game and put it into Williamsburg's hands. (Joe Roskoph's knee.) This game is usually a slug fest with anything that can happen happening. (I remember a game @ W'burg a few years ago when play was stopped twice due to dogs on the field.:lol:)

As for your other comment, I am sure that C-Ville will be hitting as well. My boys in Raceland have always been known for the way that they hit. I have seen some teams that imo were better than Raceland get beat by the Rams just bc of the way that Raceland would hit you. They just got tired of getting their "bell rung" on every play. I also have seen plenty of other teams hit ths way as well and know that the fans of other teams feel this way about their team.....and they should, that is part of being a fan.

Also, Raceland has a secret weapon should we get as far as to play Campbellsville.....BGP member cvillecat is a Raceland Fan and former all state linebacker from "Ramblerville". A big time Raceland fan with a cville name.

This thread has been fun and I appreciate all the info along with the good natured "jabs", that it what it is supposed to be about. :thumb:

Joe's knee was a freak thing...the field was wet and it hadn't rained in weeks...the ground just gave way when he tried to make a cut.

That's what I'm saying. No one ever does what they are supposed to in this game. Joe made a cut like he had a million times before and the knee just gave and the game was pretty much done right there. The LC kids' emotions just took them down for the rest of the first half.

I think Hazard could possibly win it all this year with all they have back. LCA will be there toughest out to get to state with Raceland and Campbellsville also challenging. Look for Beechwood or Mayfield to take the west with Frankfort & Fulton City challenging. If you want to look at some darkhorses, it would have to be Pikeville & Williamsburg in the east and Crittenden Co, Holy Cross and possibly Bellevue in the west...

If I were to rank them right now :

 

1) Hazard

2) Beechwood

3) LCA

4) Mayfield

5) Raceland

6) Campbellsville

7) Frankfort

8) Fulton City

9) Holy Cross

10) Pikeville

I like your top ten, but I think I would put Hazard about 2nd, with B'wood and LCA 1 and 1A. Hazard should be very good, but I think the former 2 teams will be solid across the board.

You may be right, but, it's going to be hard to beat a team that went undefeated in the regular season and to the semi-state round last year with all they have back this year. I have no doubt, Beechwood/LCA/Mayfield and Raceland are all capable of beating them, but, I just think they may have a little more proven kids back than the others...

I believe LCA lost two receivers and two or three Offensive Linemen, two LB's, and one or two DB's.

 

Raceland lost one receiver, one O linemen, one D lineman, one LB, and one DB.
