Heard the baseball coach - Fuguci(mis spelled I am sure) is going over to the basketball court once baseball season is over- can anyone confirm- this actually was talked about by several people recently!

 

That's the name I've heard too. I'm kind of surprised that this job isn't attracting more big names.

I think Coach Fucci is the right man at this point. He is an institution at the school and his Mr. Basketball award gives him credence immediately with all of the players and his son is probably the teams best player.

Well then lets start with this, he already has seen the team play multiple times, he knows their strengths and weaknesses. Having a son on the team gives him a connection to the players that is already well established that no other coach could provide. In addition winning over a team is the hard part of any coaching transition, if the best player on a team falls in line then everyone else will also. Thats why his son being the best player on the team is of paramount importance if in fact Fucci is the hire.

He might want to put in a call to some people who have coached their son before he makes it official... Rowan Co comes to mind.

I don't know the guy, but I can see all kinds of jealousy if his son is "the best player" and taking all the shots.

I think the best player on that team is the Barkdale kid. I think he is just a 9th grader. Started very game last year. Alot of upside this kid has on the B-ball court.

That sounds correct. That could be a really good job. With the right coach Tates Creek could be very good. I thought Coach Covington did a really good job with them. Their team in 07 was a top 5 team in the state IMO. They were probably the 3rd best team I seen all year in the state.

Dom Fucci was "all state" in both basketball and baseball I believe. I think he might of even played some semi-pro ball.

 

He is a pretty good basketball coach. I believe he coached their Middle School team to the city championship a few years ago.

 

His son Ryan is a very good all sport athlete. Basketball, Baseball, and Football. Definitely one of the top freshmen in the city this past year.

I heard it was Keith Miller as the next coach at Tates Creek.
