Surprise Surprise Chipper Jones hit his 10th homerun of the season, went 1-2 with 2 RBI's, and 2 walks, he is now batting .426 on the season. Chipper Jones's ranks as follows: BA- .426 (1st) HR- 10 (T2nd) RBI- 29 (4th) SLG- .717 (2nd) OBP- .472 (2nd) OPS- 1.189 (2nd) Also Kotsay has filled in quite nicely for Andruw Jones and is playing consistent (one thing Andruw lacked). I really like him and hope he continues.
May 7, 200818 yr Andruw just seemed to lose his swing in the last couple of years, and he still hasn't found it in L.A. I'm happy with Kotsay's play thus far. The only thing hurting Atlanta right now is the triage unit that is the pitching staff.
May 8, 200818 yr Author Wolf has an awesome career record in May. I could see them getting swept. Chalk up a loss for Wolf tonight, although he did pitch well but just not well enough. And as for the sweep. But on the topic of the game Chipper Jones went 2-4 and is now batting .429 on the season. Tied 2-2 in the 7th recent acquired utility man, Greg Norton, hit an RBI single with the bases loaded to give the Braves the lead 3-2. Went on to win 5-2 giving Hudson the win moving his record to 5-2 on the year. Braves go for the SWEEP tomorrow!:dancingpa:dancingpa
May 8, 200818 yr Author Really good game for the Braves today. Atlanta started with Jo-Jo Reyes on the mound but he only lasted into the 3rd inning after suffering a blister on his pitching hand. Braves were down 4-1 early but scored 2 runs in the 6th, 1 in the 7th. In the 9th inning Escobar singled to leadoff, Chipper followed with a single, Teixeira grounded out moving the runners to second and third, they intentionally walked Francouer, and Diaz delivered with a single to win the game 5-4. Stats: Escobar 2-4 with 3 runs scored. Jones 1-5 but the most notable was Greg Norton who delivered yet again who went 1-1 in a pinch hit role and had 2 RBI's. He is now 2-2 with 3 RBI's in two pinch hit appearences for the Braves. Atlanta sweeps the Padres and improves to 18-15 on the year and currently holds a 6 game win streak.

May 9, 200818 yr Braves win again today 5-4. They're now 18-15 with the best home record in baseball at 14-4.
