yeah but Jaydale is also pretty athletic dunking at his size. But his brother is a nice player, he has a decent jumber and plays great defense. His ball handling is probably the worst aspect of his game. If Henley can work with him and get him in the weight room I could see him being a great post player that Holmes has lacked the past few years.

I agree. I saw Jaydale dunking in warm ups a few times this year and was very surprised considering he is probably Braeon Avery's size. Jaydale is another one who is going to be very good. Lightning quick with the ball.

 

As far as his younger/bigger brother goes, I think Henley will try to turn him in to a post player rather than a guard because of his lack of ball handling skills. Either way the kid is going to be a stud once he gets in the weight room and sees some JV/Varsity action next year.

IMO I think the younger brother will be a great high low partner with Arnold. If Henley could convert the two into post players they would be really fun to watch.

I agree. Both are 6'6 already as a freshman and 8th grader. You have to figure they'll get a little bigger over the next few years. I wouldn't be surprised to see Holmes have three 6'8 guys in their starting lineup in 09/10. (Pittman, Arnold, Herndon)

 

If Arnold and Herndon develop a inside game, they will both be very tough to stop as they'll have either a smaller guard or a slower big man on them.

Keyvon definetly is a better outside player though. It Just depends on how much the two want it. I don't think Herdon will get that much taller, growing up with Jaydale they have a short family. His mom and dad are both under 6 foot.

Could be right, but kids usually grow until they're around 17 or 18 so it wouldn't surprise me if he added another inch or two.

Probably the two best I saw were Zane McCreary and Cooper Downs. Those two will both be at Boone next year. Another player who is starting to look good is JR Doss. His 8th grade year was his first year of organized basketball. He is 6'4 and athletic. He has been playing this summer with some high school kids and is starting to look really good. He will join McCreary and Downs at Boone.

 

Cooper Downs is a great point guard that is quick, aggressive and is knowledgeable on the court. Watched him play AAU ball, very impressive.

What about the other Boone County schools? Do they have any talent or does everyone go to Boone this year?
