Excellent information and thanks to all. What side of the ball will the newer coaches be on?

 

Boyd - DBs

Fisk - OL

Myers - LB

Hutson - QBs

Bosse - RBs

 

However, all of those coaches/positions are not a done deal yet.

Spring game looked alot better than last year. 1st defense looked very solid.

 

Where are these guys from? I know Fisk is from Scott, Has bossie coached anywhere else? what about the other guys, Myers and Hutson?

From my understanding, Hutson has been at Ryle, Scott, and Ross (OH). People say he has a very good offensive mind and should compliment Coach B's running scheme.

I think Meyers was with Hutson at Ross. I also heard Boyd, Hutson, Fisk all coached together at Scott back in 04 & 05. This was information provide to me, could be wrong.

You are right Boyd, Hutson, and Fisk did coach together at Scott. Hutson is a very smart offensive coach, he will help out big time on the offensive side of the ball. All great hires for Cov. Cath.

It is always great when Cov. Cath can get coaches from one of their district rivals.

As long as they are good quality coaches, which sounds like the staff can match up to anyone in the state.

I think you might be getting ahead of yourself. They need to have at least 1winning season before we can match them up with the best in the state. These might be good hires but I doubt they strike fear into anyone in Ft. Thomas.

I must say, I am a football fan which likes to see good football take place on the field. And any HHS fan who reads a blog always have to throw a shot at anyone who is not raving about HHS. Provide any coach with the athletes which comes through HHS and Im sure they would win. I not saying HHS coaches are not great coaches (I truly believe they are) but football doesnt start and stop with HHS. But I am a firm believer to the best you have to beat the best. Just my opinion.

Hey you are the one that said they could be compared with anyone, I just don't believe adding 3 coaches that coached at Scott (unless you mean Scott Co.) to a staff that had a loosing season makes them one of the best in the state. You said they could be compared to anyone so I compared them to "THE" someone in their Class.

I completely understand but just because they came from Scott doesnt mean they are not good coaches. You could put any staff at Scott and not win. I promise you, if you have the athletes you will win no matter the system or scheme the kids are in.

Good Lordy, its blooming April and the CovCath and Highlands fans are already throwing barbs at one another. . I agree that just because the coaches didn't have great success does not mean that they aren't good/great coaches and I agree that until they've proven themselves at CovCath, its premature to say they are part of a coaching staff that can match up with any coaching staff in the state. You are either both wrong or both right. Your choice. :banana:

Keep in mind now... CovCath is only ONE year removed from a state championship (going 2-0 vs. HHS that year, no less)... it sort of sounds like some think CCH is out in the wilderness somewhere and not able to compete. It sure sounds to me like everything is in place for BOTH CCH and HHS to make serious title runs in 2008.
