They got what they wanted out of it. Expiring contracts. I'm sure having West on the other end didn't hurt. :D They have a ton of money to spend this off season. Hello Arenas and Marion.

Gilbert isnt going anywhere. They have a chance at Marion, but I dont look for him to end up there.

Gil is gone no question about it. I think he has made it pretty clear.

I don't think Marion cares where he goes he just wants to get paid. Why else would he leave want to leave the Suns.

Gil just recently said he would take a pay cut to keep the team they have intact.

He wants to be a top option, and would like for that to be on a contender. He was the 3rd or 4th option in Phoenix and never had a play run for him. He wants to be 1st or 2nd option.

Well if he is option #1 his team isn't going to be a contender. He would be option 1 at Memphis and they have a lot of money to throw around. Gil must have recently changed his tune. I think he will test the waters else where.

No doubt Gil will see what is out there, but I think he will return. Where is he going to go? Put him beside Wade in Miami and they draft Beasley? Wow.

Any ideas who is going to have the cap room this year besides Miami and Memphis? I want to say Sacto will, but I'm not sure.

I think Marion will want to go back out West.

Miami isn't going to have cap room they will still the Diesel with 20Mil on the books. I just saw on Gil's blog where he said that. :thumb: I haven't look in a while. I will once the playoffs get started.

You know Shaq doesn't play for the Heat anymore dont you?

The point of the trade was to open up cap room for the Heat since Marion was likely to opt out of the last year of his deal. If he was still on the books for Miami, why was Banks thrown in to make the salaries match? You got some bad info.

Oh now that we discussed it your trying to make me look bad. :p I don't know what I was thinking.

I think they would have been in the same position of Bynum never went down.

:thumb:They've been at the top of the conference all year...even before Gasol.

If Bynum can come back and contribute in the playoffs, they're going to be a nightmare matchup...if everyone was healthy, I'd take the Lakers roster over any other in the league.

Bynum will be back for the playoffs according to ESPN.com.

With Bynum, Bryant, and Gasol in the lineup, the Lakers are going to be tough. I think Kobe gets his 1st MVP award and 4th ring this year. (edging the Celtics in 7)

I hope the Lakers are in the Finals.
