April 8, 200818 yr Well even if it is the first week I can say this much, expect Scott Thorman, Martin Prado, possibly Brett Lillibridge to be traded before the deadline in July. It will definitely be for bullpen help and if this bullpen keeps it up there will be a trade before the end of May. Two straight no-decisions for Glavine who has a 0.79 ERA is just dumb. The bullpen has all 4 of the Braves losses this season, that right there should tell you something.Thorman won't bring anything. Prado is a dime-a-dozen player, a good glove with no bat. Lillibridge has the most value of the three guys you mentioned, but he could go either way. He could be the Braves' shortstop by July, or if he doesn't hit in Triple-A he might not draw much interest. If Glavine has an 0.79 ERA and no decisions, the offense should share some of the blame, too.

I know it's your opinion and everything but there is NO CHANCE that Lillibridge is the shortstop over Escobar come July or October, even 2009.
April 8, 200818 yr Author Don't fall too in love with that ERA. Glavine is old and will fade as the season goes along. He had a 2.80 ERA through April last season and ended up at 4.45. As a matter of fact he had a 3.88 ERA on September 14th and faded to the 4.45 ERA by season's end. He will wear down. What is disturbing for Brave's fans is that the Braves haven't taken advantage of his good early starts---they won't be there later. Maybe so but he was also worked a lot last year with the Mets with Pedro out and a depleted rotation. The Braves are not worried about him going to the 7th and 8th inning every game (although they may wanna consider it now!). Why do you think he just pitched 6 1/3 innings last night while he had a shutout and only allowed two hits?
April 8, 200818 yr I know it's your opinion and everything but there is NO CHANCE that Lillibridge is the shortstop over Escobar come July or October, even 2009.I didn't say he would be the shortstop... I said he could be. Which is a heck of a lot more accurate than saying there is no chance of it happening.
April 8, 200818 yr I didn't say he would be the shortstop... I said he could be. Which is a heck of a lot more accurate than saying there is no chance of it happening. I think it could happen if Escobar gets injured, but I don't think Escobar will lose his spot based on play.
April 8, 200818 yr Author I think it could happen if Escobar gets injured, but I don't think Escobar will lose his spot based on play. Exactly. I mean't to put maybe because of injury, but Escobar is a very good player and will not lose his spot.
April 10, 200818 yr The Braves are 3-5 currently, all 5 losses by one run. They're snakebitten so far this year. Although that's probably not going to happen tonight. Down 9-3 in the 8th.
April 10, 200818 yr Author ^ Very disappointing. I mean looking at the pitchers they were facing the Braves definitely had the advantage and coming in with hot bats were supposed to help too. The Braves need to win tomorrow because a 4 game sweep would not look good at all. I still have faith they can turn it around though. It is early and they will pick out the weaklinks of the team.
April 12, 200818 yr Author Man work sucks...But the good news is that Tim Hudson has pitched yet another gem this season and the second one against the Nationals. Braves shut out the Nationals who have now lost 8 straight games. Hudson went 8 innings, 2 walks, 5 strike outs, giving up 3 hits. Moylan got his first save of the season. Escobar hit a solo homerun in the 6th to break a scoreless tie.
April 12, 200818 yr Good to see the Braves get back on the winning track. They need to get the offense going a little better though.
April 12, 200818 yr Escobar is going to be really good I think. Another great game by Hudson! I have him on my fantasy team so that was good too. Smoltzy on the mound tomorrow:) I didn't look through here earlier but the Braves top prospect in CF got busted for HGH this week and is suspended for a couple of months.
