I can tell you that many who vilify Obama are doing so from a clear racial perspective. To think that doesn't drive some is naive.

:thumb:IMO - The sad truth is - it goes both ways and for everyone to say that's not true is naive.

 

One of the smarest people I've ever known in my life is a black woman. Do I think she's smart becuase of her race? No, I thought she was smart because of her brain.

 

One of the meanest people I've ever known is a white woman. Do I think she's mean because of her race? No, I think she's mean because of her heart.

 

I truly have never seen race when I look at someone. I've always thought it was best to look at their face and their eyes and see if you can see their heart. Maybe I'm the one who's naive but I don't much think it matters what your race is to determine what kind of person you are and what you are able to do.

You know what? All conservative white folks do not care what color a man or woman's skin is . . . but most care about their policies. I wouldn't vote for Obama for dog catcher let alone President of the United States. It has nothing to do with the fact he is a black man, but more that he is a socialist. His policies are so far left that I cannot support any of them. He is for nearly everything that I am against. That is why he won't get my vote. Also, if he was a member of his church for 20 years (like he admits) you cannot tell me that he didn't know what it or it's pastor stands for. Where there is smoke there is fire. He is back peddling now that an issue was made of it. He is simply bad news for this country.

Why was it okay for Obama to speculate that his middle name would be an asset a few months ago?

 

I sometimes use "Hillary" instead of "Clinton" because it avoids confusing her with her husband and to save keystrokes. However, I do sometimes use her full name and in long posts, I try to remember to preface her name with "Sen." at least once out of respect for the office.

 

I cringe every time that I hear somebody in the media address a president, US senator, governor, or congressman as "Mr." or "Mrs." Regardless of how I feel about the interviewee, the office deserves respect for the outstanding people who have held those titles in the past.

Have you watched the video clips yet? If not, please do so and then tell us that the Rev. Wright is not a racist.

 

Tavis Smiley is a journalist. He is supposed to interview people, controversial or not. To my knowledge, Smiley is not running for office and has not claimed Rev. Wright as his spiritual mentor.

 

How do you know that every deal between Obama and Rezko was above board? Why has Obama donated $160,000 in contributions from Rezko to charity after claiming for months that he never accepted more than $60,000 from Rezko? Obama has admitted that getting involved with Rezko was a bone headed move, why not join him?

 

Obama is doing what any good politician does after being caught associating with the wrong sort of people - he is turning his back on his once valued friends and associates out of political expediency.

 

Obama believes that his campaign is in jeopardy or he would not have agreed to the Fox News interview tonight. FYI, Sean Hannity was not alone in exposing the Rev. Wright. Every talk show radio that I have listened to in the past couple of days has played audio clips of Wright condemning white men, Hillary, and the United States.

 

Blame conservatives for Obama's problems if you want, but the reason that this story suddenly sprouted legs is that Hillary still has many supporters in the media and she is getting desperate. Hannity exposed Rev. Wright as a racist more than a year ago but there comes a time when even CNN must cover news that casts their candidates in a bad light.

 

No witch hunt here it's just that the Clinton News Network (CNN) and other media have decided to finally air some of these issues that have largely gone ignored over the past year or so.

You'll have to give me more details on that first sentence, as I don't remember that.

 

Its fairly easy to type Sen. Clinton if you are worried that someone will confuse a post about the candidates running for the current presidentaly spot with a past president.

 

They all deserve the respect of their office and the use of their last name. How many of us would be willing to have our lives dragged before the media spotlight to be analyzed and combed through?

I would love to see Clarence Thomas run for the presidency in 2012 except for the fact that he is probably more valuable in his current position. I cannot think of any elected official whose values match my own better than those of Justice Thomas.

 

There are certainly some conservatives who would not vote for a black man for president based on skin color. However, looking at at exit polls, there appears to be a disproportionate number of white Democrats who are voting for Hillary and against Obama based on his skin color and an even greater majority of black Democrats voting for Obama based solely on his race. The political positions and experience of Obama and Clinton are not much different, so apparently liberals are not so color blind after all.
