How in the world can Jackson not win back to back region titles Mcqueary losses to 5 win Southwestern in first game of district

To get beat out in the first round of the district to a team with only four wins is not very good.

Just because Southwestern only had 4 wins going into that game, doesn't mean that they were some horrible team. Coach Schulz and his staff done one heck of a job this past year. Laugh at them now because for the next three to four years I'm going to guess that the Warriors are going to be regional contenders. If this is the lowest point that they can get they have nowhere else to go but up!!!!!!!!!!!

And Congrats to Coach Jones on his 2nd consecutive 12th region COY!!!!!!!!!!

I totally agree SW will be very good in the next couple of years and they did get better as the season went on, but the fact of the matter is they only won FOUR.....the fingers on one hand....games all year prior to beating the Mighty Raiders, although the Warriors proved they were not so mighty. And there is no way McCreary should have lost that game. They were not properly prepared, and it showed.

I agree SW does have a bright future. However, there is no way to spin it. When you are that heavy of a favorite and lose to a team with 4 wins, it is bad. The ONLY way I can see him winning COY is if it was voted on before the district tournament started.

Coach, please explain how they were properly prepared.

Well said. No way a four-win team should have beaten McCreary.

But they did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

So you are saying that Southwestern's win was a fluke??????????? They might not of had the best record in the 12th Region or the 48th District, but there was no quit in the warriors. They might have been the laughing stock of the 12th Region this year but the next three to four years watch out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:flame:

Win was no fluke ... a win is a win, baby!

But they did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

The win was a great win for SW... but the point I think Les and others are making is that it was a BAD loss for a coach who was named 12th region COY

Coach, please explain how they were properly prepared.

Well not being there, I can only speak in general terms, but......

1. Were they properly scouted? It would appear not since McCreary did not stop the play that won the game or even let them be in the game.

2. Mentally, Kids are going to think what they want and the coaches have to prepare them mentally for playing a less (if in record only) to them. Was that done, from the out come it would appear not.

3. Were they physically prepared, did they have time off to rest dead legs or get over the mental grind of the long season, it would appear not.

When a 24 win team loses to a 4 win team there is a serious problem there, in preparartion or in play, and all of that falls back to the coach. Or maybe he did not take it serioulsy either.

Both were properly scouted. They played twice in the regular season and both teams had 3-5 game films on the other one.

I'm sure Coach Jones took the game serious. As would any other coach. But I thought that the game was a hard fought game for both teams. McCreary had a chance to tie the game but I think it was Adam Swiger (SP) that threw the ball away to a Southwestern defender. Now I will agree that a TO should have been called when he was trapped but that is in the past now and we can't change it.

Im sure Coach Jones took the game serious. He could not put the ball in the basket himself. I think that region wise this year Jones and Jackson did a great job and maybe they should be co coaches of the year. Woods from Wayne did a good job as usual and the West Jessamine coach did also. Top coaches in the 12th are in no order:

Jeff Jackson

Robert Jones

Rodney Woods
