02Ram54 Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Congrats, Coach Weiter.:thumb: I think the Wing-T would be perfect for the athletes J-Town has (if you can get them to play something other than basketball.)
The Galloping Ghost Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Where did he come from? What is his coaching background?
RowdyRedRam Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 Where did he come from? What is his coaching background?Manual's OC since 2001. Was a Head Coach at Atherton prior to Manual.
Alabama Larry Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Anybody from Manual going with him? Real good FCA guy too.
ram2003 Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Congratulations Coach Weiter! I wish him the best of luck, and I know J-Town will be better for having him. I'm VERY curious what the coaching situation for Manual is going to become now.

02Ram54 Posted March 7, 2008 Author Posted March 7, 2008 Our contemporaries... quasi on staff now, but being in school has kept them from being there year round.

Bear78 Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Looks like Weiter has his job cut out for him. J-towns last winning season was 16 years ago, best since then was 5-5 15 years ago. He could use some help from recent Manual grads they can carry a winning attitude with them to help jump start this program. As far as getting the J-town students to play something other than basketball I think that will come with winning, athletes gravitate to teams that win. From what I have seen at Manual he needs a fast back and at least a receiver that can catch the long ball (hmmm think basketball again).
footballhd Posted March 8, 2008 Posted March 8, 2008 Didnt Nicholson at Manual get rid of Weiter after the season?

GR8BigBull Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 Didnt Nicholson at Manual get rid of Weiter after the season? Man, you and some of your posts get really "tabloid like". By the way, it is Nichols at Manual, not Nicholson and NO he did not get rid of Weiter after the season. Gary Weiter will do fine at J-Town, he will have them believeing in the Wing-T style and that is hard for most teams to totally "shut down". You can take some things away but seldom take everything away. Hopefully he can get some of the basketball talent roaming the campus there to strap on the pads and showcase their athletic ability on the football field. There would be some pretty good speed and talent there to put in the backfield and split out.
