Both semi final games are slated for Friday, March 7th. I had a thread about the 1st round games so lets hear any thoughts and predictions the semi finals. Who advances to the championship game?

Ashland vs. Raceland

Morgan Co. vs. Rowan Co.

The finals almost everybody wanted to see, Rowan will beat Ashland by 4.

If I had to pick an upset I would pick Morgan.

Ofcourse I have to take my Lady Rams over Ashland and Rowan County over Morgan. If Ashland wins and plays Rowan, Rowan will win by 12+. I don't think it will be a close game.

^ I took Raceland as well incognito, go figure-lol.

As for that game Ashland probaby is and should be favored over Raceland. Ashland beat the Lady Rams by 30 earlier in the season I believe. I just think that if the Raceland girls come out and play as tough and as focused as they did when they won the 63rd district that they will give the Kittens all that they want.

As for Rowan vs. Morgan I picked Rowan but would love to see Morgan Co. get a win vs. them like they did against Russell.

All four of the teams left are very well coached and I hope that all teams stay injury free. :thumb:

Ashland and Rowan with coach Tackett and the Lady Vikings champions.

I believe that vanderhoof was out when Ashland played Raceland in the 30 point loss. Raceland is now healthy, just won their district, and won their first round regional game - I think that the Kittens will have a much tougher time beating the Lady Rams this time around. I look for a very close game with Ashland barely pulling it out by under 5 points.

:thumb: I also believe that Vanderhoof was out of that game I.F., I am not sure but Clark and maybe Keeton, if not out may have been hurting then as well. Lioke I said, not sure and someone can correct me if I am wrong.

Coach Trimble will have this team focused and ready. I just hope that Vanderhoof can play a lot of minutes and they can get the "W" over a very good Ashland team.

These are my sentiments exactly oldrambler. Beating an opponent during the regular season by a large margin sometimes comes back to haunt the winner of that contest...there may be a false sense of confidence coming into a rematch. Although Im sure both teams have improved since meeting each other in their earlier matchup...I have been very impressed with the way Raceland has progressed over the season. You said it best in the above quote...IF the Lady Rams play like they did in the District Championship game, the Kittens may be in for a rude awakening.

Best of luck Raceland!

Vanderhoof was out for that Ashland game. I was in attendance for that one and Ashland could've won by far more. Their press gave the Rams fits and I see that happening again. Although Vanderhoof will give the Rams a very good punch and some much needed confidence for this game, I do not think she will be the difference. I have been wrong plenty of times and this may be the case, but unless they can advance the ball this time, it will not be pretty for the Rams. That said, both teams are playing well and the Rams are as close to 100% as they've been all year. This could be the best game of the semifinals on either side.

On another note...has this not been a great girl's regional thusfar? Classic finishes, great performances and all the top seeds advancing to the semis! I know we had like 5 girls go D-1 last year, but this season has been better overall. I look forward to the semis this weekend and expect nothing less than great girls basketball. Good luck to all teams!

My gut tells me Ashland (in a close one) & Rowan Co., but my heart tells me the Lady Rams will find a way to get to the title game against the Lady Vikings. Do I sound a little bit conflicted & confused? I am !!!

The key will be Brooke Wilson's play (she is a pistol & makes her teammates better)& the Lady Rams staying out of foul trouble.

Coach Trimble & his staff will have the girls ready. GO LADY RAMS ... FIND A WAY TO WIN !!! :thumb:
