Carroll County fell behind 24-0 and didn't score until about :50 remained in the first half. At this point they went on a 30-14 run to cut the lead to 38-30. That's as close as it got but it was a valiant 2nd half effort by the Lady Panthers. At one point in the 1st half CCHS had 4 team fouls and Girdy had all 4 of them. Very sorry to see Girdy play her last game but the future looks bright for Carroll County. Freshman Curry, 8th grader Devine and soph. Osborne looked very good at times tonight along with junior Henderson. Good season ladies.

SK is a very good team and after you got over the fear you showed some toughness!

I would really like to know what Coach Mefford said to the Panthers at Half time to inspire them. They looked like a different team that really believed they could come back and win, they almost pulled it off.

 

Girdy is a great player and is aggressive, however using local 8th region refs they would call the same action much quicker on her than on the SK team. Not that they were not fouls, but that Sk had to repeat the action several times to get a call and Amber got it 1st time. I was very happy that with the size difference that no one was injured.

I was impressed that Carroll came back like they did in the second half. Hats off to the Lady Panthers- you could have just rolled over especially when Girdy fouled out early in the 4th but you didn't. You all played to the buzzer....good for you.

SK is an impressive team with many weapons. Their next game will be tough but I expect they will win Friday night against South Oldham. If Anderson can take care of business on Friday as well then it will be a great match-up Saturday in the Championship.

 

I have followed Carroll County throughout the year and I can tell ya these young ladies are fun to watch. They play with great team effort and toughness.

If this team works hard this summer then I won't be suprised if they win 20 games next year.
