A couple of weeks ago, there were some posts saying that things were a mess down at Henry County. What is the current state of the gym and the parking lots at HC? If things are still bad, are there plans for off site parking?

I believe some of the parking that was lost to construction has been restored according to what I have heard. I will believe it when I see it.

 

My advice if you are going: ARRIVE EARLY unless you like a refreshing walk.

I cannot believe the 8th Region is still going to played in that mess! The last time I was by HCHS, it was still a terrible mess...why not go to another school for 1 year...Oldham, Shelby, anywhere...I am not looking forward to that mess...enough said...Good Luck to all of the teams and for my Official's, work hard!

I was at the draw today. According to Coach Gilley, the lot in front of the gym is supposed to be graveled in time for the games and they will actually have more parking than before. It is very muddy. I believe everyone will have to enter from the back of the gym. As others have said, get there early.

Was there any conversation about moving the tourney site in the future, I know no other gym can hold as many but I would think that Carroll County or Gallatin County would be a nice change to host the event at.

They are too small. I'd rather put up with the parking problems than being turned away because there are no seats. Henry Co. is the ideal place and is usually aways a neutral floor for all opponents.

There is a large parking lot graveled up as of now. I saw it today, so parking will not be that bad. the headache will come from having only one entrance into the gym.

There will be more than one entrance. The rear of the gym will have an entrance, however there will be an entrance at the front of the school for people parking out front.

At one time Carroll County was mentioned as an alternative site. Most likely it would have been single sessions. Carroll is rate by the fire marshall sign at 2500.

Hopefully it will all work out. Either way, everyone will be able to watch some good basketball. :thumb:
