Justin Smith to the Niners

Featured Replies

For those of you saying Justin Smith was the Bengals best defensive player, what team have you been watching?

Being the best defensive player in Cincy is not necessarily a bragging right...

His motor made him play hard. However, his lack of discipline with a high motor led to over penetration against the run. His pass rushing skills are below average. He was not worth the money. This contract will burden the '49ers.

I'm not saying that JS didn't have his faults, but I am saying that I like the way he plays the game. I also think that if the Bengals had a decent linebacking corp, it would've helped JS out more.

I beg to differ:

Tackles sacks

Justin Smith 78 2

Robert Geathers 47 4

Both played and started 16 games...

You can't ignore teams game planning to block the defense's most athletic player.

Did you not watch last year? Did you not see that Geathers was forced to play out of position at OLB????
