gold sunrise Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Very physical game. Score does not tell the way this game was played. Bourbon led at the half.....22-17. GRC did not take the lead till half way through the 3rd quarter.....then never looked back. The Cards and Bourbon both were in early foul trouble due to the game being so physical....had to stop the game to clean up blood. It was a very ugly game for the Cards...but we won and advanced. I want to say a great game plan by Coach Mike Flynn and hats off to the Bourbon players. They have came a long way since last year.:thumb:

It was a very physical game but did not have to be. Maybe the officials should take lessons from Mr. Flynn.
d-dawg Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Clark Co played very bad the first half making needless turnovers and missing easy shots, missing free throws and playing without purpose. The second half was a different story, Clark putting out a great effort, creating turnovers and capitalizing on them and shot a decent % . This team right now has 20 wins and 7 losses. It's been a great year and could even get better--GO CARDS!!!:dancingpa
bigblueinsanity Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Sounds like Clark Co got out of the box slow.
gold sunrise Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 Any "STATS" yet? It was a very physical game but did not have to be. Maybe the officials should take lessons from Mr. Flynn. When we played Bourbon Co on Feb. 5th, coach stated that our boys were beat up worse than any other game they had played all season, because the game was so physical. Having a game like this and then playing Montgomery Co on Friday will be tuff on the Cards. Montgomery Co played on Monday, so they have had plenty of rest.

GRC4LIFE Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Did Clark have a big advantage in fouls and free throws? Pretty much every starter had 3 or 4 fouls... Very ugly and sloppy first half and then Clark ended up outscoring Bourbon by 25 in the 2nd half.

Plato Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Did everyone from Winchester have UK tickets tonight? There may have been 350 from GRC at the boys game tonight and there couldn't have been more than 150 from GRC at the girls championship game IN WINCHESTER. Sad. I bet a few more come over to Mt. Sterling on Friday night for the finals. It should be a great game.

You know the place will be rockin' Friday night though.:ylsuper:
GRC4LIFE Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 For both teams or just Bourbon? I know for Clark most of their starters had 3 or 4... Not sure about Bourbon except I know they had one to foul out.
gold sunrise Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 I know for Clark most of their starters had 3 or 4... Not sure about Bourbon except I know they had one to foul out. Rogers and Pervis had 3 fouls the first half (center and back up center. ) Had to move Dini to center and I think he ended up having 4 fouls . Lots of fouls called on both teams. When you play as physical as these two teams do against each other....this is to be expected.
d-dawg Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Clark just doesn't have very good fan support and hasn't in several years.
HOMELESS CAMEL Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Clark just doesn't have very good fan support and hasn't in several years. They brought a nice crowd to the Fieldhouse for the regular season game this year. Congrats to Clark Co on the win :thumb:
