You would think the NC coach would be a little more gracious. "If we played Highlands 10 times we would win 5 of them". Well Coach the last two margin of victories for Highlands has been 17 points. I dont see this changing anytime soon.

I don't think the quote was intended to be "ungracious". As far as changing anytime soon, I only have the box score to go by, but the only Sr. that seemed to have any impact on the game was Adler from Highlands and the only Freshman was Bartels from NCC. So barring any incoming freshman next year it appears to me it only tightes up. Guess the only real way to tell is see what happens in the next 10 games.

I couldn't believe that when I read it also. They play 10 times, HHS wins at least 8 of the 10. The game was good but once HHS took the 8 point lead in the third NCC couldn't get anything going. Very physical game inside. I really like the Tabor girl from NCC and the frosh guard is going to be a good one. With what NCC has returning they should be fine next year. It's hard to believe that this will make the second time in three years that NCC hasn't made the regionals. As for HHS they are a good team but in order for them to be great Horner has to be able to make the outside shot and last night she didn't. Horner making shots opens up the middle for Adler and Towes and also gives Allen some freedom.

I agree with the comment on Horner. Is it just me or did she seem to play her best ball while the Adler girl was out? Is there some implied pressure for playing time involved here? Don't know that much about the situation but thought someone closer to the program might have a thought.

Yeah I agree with Crunch. Highlands is loaded for at least the next 4 yrs. Highlands will dominate the next 6-8 meetings if not more. Go Birds.

Highlands will be very successful as long as their coach stays. All I am saying is that she does a tremendous job with her whole program. Highlands, Ryle and Conner all have great pools of talent in their lower grades.

Colby...just curious, have you been following/scouting NKY girl's Bball very long? It sounds as if you are scouting for summer teams and the majority of the programs have already secured their rosters.

I can not say and most of our teams are full but there is always a kid that comes along late in the season. We are still talking to some kids, plus some kids are not always happy with their present teams and their exposure. I have seen many good young players in the area. I actually scout for a few organizations.

I understand. It sounds like you are doing it the right way. Do not become one of those AAU coaches/scouts that won't leave a kid alone and show-up at all of their HS games. I recognize most of them and eventually parents have to turn and run the other way.
