The game started out fast with both teams keeping it close. Walton was ahead at half time and seemed to have it in control. Carroll game out and just got it done.

Not a good time for a loss going into the Districts. Walton should have won this game but couldn't take care of the ball. This surely won't give the Lady Cats the momentum they need if they think they can win it. Congrats to Carroll Co. and good luck in the Districts.

I think Walton will be fine. I mean, no one wants to get beat, but Walton will get the job done. They won't want to go out without going to Regionals. We'll bounce back. Carroll hit BIG 3's late and got it done, Walton played good, just how it goes sometimes!

Good win for Carroll. It is hard to go into WV and get a win at any time. WV is a grood team and they need to look ahead to districts. They are losing many quality players to graduation. I did not realize how many until they announced their names.

 

Carroll was just really hungry for a win and worked really hard to come back. They were blessed with good shooting tonight!

I didn't put the scoring down to bring it home! But yes, there was a lot of 3's going for both teams tonight.

 

Who do you all have in the first round of district?

The Lady Panthers will travel to Owen County on Tuesday to take on a tough Gallatin County squad at 6:00. The second game will be Owen County playing Henry County. This is one of the most balanced districts in the state with 4 very competitive teams all playing each other for the third time.

3 losses in their last 4 games. They better watch out for Grant County. Grant knocked off Owen in their last game and may be playing some of their best basketball of the season.

Carroll's defense really picked up the second half. They cut a 9 point half time lead to 3 at the end of the third quarter. It seemed as though everytime CC needed a stop they got it.

They also had very balanced scoring with four girls in double figures. Girdy fouled out with about 2:30 left in the game. The team pulled together and showed a lot of toughness. Walton had the ball out of bounds under their basket with 5 seconds left and Carroll took away their first two options and forced a tie up and then a turnover.
