Personally, the unsubstianted crap should be ignored. If there's truth in the allegations, it will come out. But, until then, ignore it. When the candidate comes out declaring his/her innocence in the face of an unsubstantiated claim, it brings to mind the Shakesperian quote: "Me think thou doth protest too much".

If they addressed every stupid little rumor out there they wouldn't have time for anything else.

The New York Times ran a front page smear against McCain, using only a couple of unnamed sources for the most sensational allegations. That is shoddy journalism at best, and the newspaper is being hammered by fair minded people across the political spectrum, including Bill Clinton's friend and attorney, Lanny Davis.

 

I doubt that the Sinclair allegations are true, but the journalistic standards that are applied to alleged scandals involving liberal politicians like Obama are much different than those applied to conservatives.

 

McCain should be waking up to the fact that he is no longer in Kansas. McCain will be covered with the same partisan zeal to which other Republicans have become accustomed.

 

A Republican with Obama's paper thin resume would be getting slammed by the media on a daily basis for his naiveté and inexperience. Instead, there will be no serious investigation of alleged scandals by Obama because the limited resources of the shrinking dinosaur media will be lined up to stop McCain.

 

The Rezko scandal should be a huge issue in this campaign as should McCain's hypocrisy on campaign finance reform. Unfortunately, most Americans will vote without a clue about who Rezko is and how Obama might have gotten a sweetheart deal on a house that he otherwise could not have afforded. However, even those too young to remember the Keating Five scandal will become well acquainted with the Keating Five scandal.
