Lewis Co. 78 St. Pat 69

Final. What a gutsy performance by the Lions. They were down 5 at halftime and come out in the 3rd to take a double digit lead. St. Pat come back and took the lead by one and coach Hampton worked his magic. Lewis couldn't buy a free throw tonight but the guys showed their heart by playing their butts off and sent the seniors out with a bang. Good luck in the district.

Gutsy is a good word to describe the Lions tonight. I thought they played much harder than St. Pat and therefore pulled of one last home win for the Seniors. I thought Bub Witten along with Cody Riley. Away game Friday at a good Bath Co. team. Lets continue to gain momentum going into districts.

There was also a very nice presentation for Coach Bub Silvey. He has been the assistant coach at Lewis Co. for a number of years and will be leaving for active duty in early March. Both sides gave him an standing ovation. This is one of the nicest, most caring men you will ever meet and I want to wish him the best of luck. You will be deeply missed next basketball season in Lewis Co. as well as the entire 16th region.

Had to be one of the worst officiated games I've ever seen. It wasn't why they lost but it shore didn't help. Something needs to be done with the reffing that has been going on in this 2007-08 season.

10th Region and 16th Region officiating differs greatly. 10th seems to be much more physical and more like the college game where 16th is much more touchy and inconsistent. But the officiating in this game couldnt be anyworse then it was last year when we came to St. Pat. (That game ended with 20 seconds left on the clock because a Lewis Co. player was knocked out going up for a layup when we were down by 20)

Didn't see this one coming but congrats to the Lions.

The Saints must still be sulking about the district draw. Nice warmup game before taking on the royals.

Has to be yet another thorn in Coach Hinson's side to not win the All A, not get 20 victories and draw Mason in the district. The trifecta.

If my math is correct the Saints can still get 20 wins with a home win over Fleming County in their regular season finale.

Who was the officiating crew?

How did officiating determine the outcome of that game? FYI the players involved in that were JV guys working hard to defend the break, and they felt horrible about the boy getting hurt.

Chris Owens called for traveling on four separate occassions. There was a flagrant foul on the tip!

How does that happen?!?
