The game was no where near what the final score reads as this game was really over at Half Time with CovCath leading 35-18. I really thought this game would have been closer, and the thing (IMO) that kept the score close was Dixie having a 13 to 3 advantage in fouls called against CovCath at one point in the second half before Dixie started fouling on purpose to get the ball back. It seemed at one point that Dixie was constantly at the charity stripe shooting free throws. Must say that Mace didn't impress me at all tonight, as he only made 4/12 from the floor and almost all of his shots (even the misses) were from very, very close range. In the fourth quarter (I think) CovCath must have missed five or six straight shots but keep getting the rebound until Roll finally hit a three point basket.

 

Again really surprised that this game wasn't closer.

In the first minute or so of the 2nd quarter, Luke Maile went off for 7 points and a couple of rebounds. Dixie never recovered. Luke Mace was very smooth, aggresive and strong with the ball in the paint for Dixie. He muscled his way in for ground zero shots that just were not falling.

The Colonels are still struggling with their long-range shots. That will need to change in order for them to progress through the tourney.
