Same time as all the other 16th Region teams. Must have chosen to play out of state teams.

I believe ALL teams play a Varsity and JV Schedule.:thumb:

I hear Greenup will also have a Freshmen schedule down at Cocoa.:sssh:

Maybe Boyd. Anybody else?

Why do so many KY high school teams go to Cocoa Beach? Is that an expense for the school or the Player? I noticed some of the teams have a Freshman schedule, that must be a lot of players making the trip to Cocoa Beach.

I've been to Cocoa as a player. It's a great way to play a lot of very good competition in a few short days. I'm glad Boyd continues to go.

As wonderful as Florida is, the Cocoa experience is far from a vacation for these teams though. That many games in that type of weather is tough. I actually spent a day in the hospital while I was there due to heat exhaustion and dehydration.

Competition and games, against solid teams to prepare, for upcoming season.

Practice in ideal conditions, play against teams who have 15-20 games already in Florida. Will make any KY team better and give the coach, a chance to evaluate his talent.

The amount of games played and being able to house your team where the games take place are the two main reasons Cocoa is the choice.

I wouldn't necessarily say the competition is that great anymore, however. I've seen a big "fall-off" there over the years. I think most of the KY schools that frequent Cocoa are just used to going there and know what to expect, as opposed to making a change.

Sounds like a lot of KY school systems must have plenty of money. Sounds like a great trip for all involved. Anyone got any extra room in the car?
