I think Shover may have been drawn away by the politics at CCH. I believe he was a better ball player than Holocher, yet for some reason he didnt start or play much:rolleyes:. I hear if you donate money you may buy your son a starting spot. Thats what i have been told.

That's fine. He is entitled to his own opinion. I don't know what more he wanted when he had lead off hitter and starting second baseman almost (98%) at a lock. If he was drawn away by politics, he left baseball for the wrong reasons.

 

P.S. - And also last year, Shover was set as the 3rd string Varsity shortstop. Even if there was no such player as Holocher, Shover would have been playing JV Shortstop regardless. Those are the facts my friend.:thumb:

Just curious how would he be a lock if he was third string last year? This is the same kid that played cov cath basketball this season correct?Athletes are athletes...also i find it hard to believe someone would leave if he had a varsity spot locked up...but if he had to deal with this kind of treatment i can understand why

I was told that this is correct. He was going to be the starter on this team. And you hit it right on the head. The treatment was the main issue IMO from what I've been told. And it goes waaay back.

Treatment? How old are they now? 17? That's old enough to get a grip. And 3rd string shortstop, not second baseman. He was backup 2nd baseman behind Connor Larkin and he was definitely not giving up his spot. Shover had it locked for a fact there is no argument here.

You know what I mean! And for what it's worth, Holocher is a good SS. Shover would do just as good IMO, ok, IMO if given the chance. I think some players have been groomed to be in certain positions because of opportunities that are seen coming in the future and I think one was seen here.
