Now isn't that about it. He is a classy man, maybe he will play the violin or the chello.

I think that goes back to Huckabee's comment from early in the year. People prefer someone that comes across as a person that would work with rather than the person that laid them off.

 

Maybe, but that's the line of thinking that got GWB elected in the first place. I have a good buddy I love to drink beer with and shoot the breeze with. Real salt-of-the-earth kinda guy. Not especially bright, loves his car racing, works a solidly blue-collar job. I'd lay down in traffic for my buddy. But I don't want him as my president.

 

My statement about Romney was just that: He comes across as a jerk, even though he's trying not to. That makes him seem fake. That's my biggest turn-off.

 

McCain comes across as a jerk too. But he knows it and has incorporated that into his style. Hillary seems to have done something similar with her crabbiness (you guys know the real word I'm looking for).

Just some of my thoughts on all this...

 

I think there is also a lot of jealousy of his personal success.

 

The religion thing blows my mind. Bringing up what church he belongs to while running for president, tells me a lot of how narrow minded people can be. (all of sudden the country has tons of non-mormon experts on the religion!). That should make everyone weary; if people don't like what church you belong to, they attack you and your religion? Very not American!

 

 

I found this part of your post interesting. It's neat how some people will suggest that we as a society have evolved beyond the race and religion biases that were so evident in the '60s, when people would say they were afraid to vote for JFK because he "took his orders from a papal dictator."

I don't know. I'm pretty demanding when it comes to the position of Leader of The Free World, and nobody in my lifetime has measured up.

I guess we will just have to see what we end up with after the elections are all said and done- Romney will look really good to all of us come 2012.

 

The most important decision a person will make in this lifetime is their faith.

 

Why does it blow your mind that a person would not consider what a person has decided in regards to their most important decision in their lifetime.

 

In the OT, one of the things we see is that the nation of Israel fell and went into captivity when they began to have kings that were not ruling with the mindset that God wanted them to rule.

 

Are we not supposed to learn from history?

This thing is going to come down to McCain and Hillary (Super Delegates anyone??), as sad as that is. In a country of over 300 million people, why is this the only choices we have? Unbelievable!

 

 

Seems to be the case every four years. No wonder voters have become apathetic.
