I have seen him play, he is a wonderful young talent.

Class of 2010, Jared Stacy from Rowan Co. has been playing well. He won an EKJGA tournament this summer and has finished in the top 3 at 3 Pepsi Tour tournaments so far.

The junior Kentucky All-Star team was announced and Jared Flanery from Elliott County was part of the elite group. Jared recently placed 3rd at the Junior state-am while taking medalist honors in his age divison. Watch out for this kid, he can play.

 

Can someone eles post the rest of the all-star team? I'm thinking there is 8-10 kids who made it from across the state. I know Joe Barr from Woodford County was one of the others choosen.

I have never heard of this "All-Star" team. Is this something new? There used to be something called Tri-State where the best junior golfers from KY, IN, and TN would play matches against each other. That's the only "All-Star like" thing I've ever heard of.

I actually had never heard anything about it either until I found out Flanery had been picked for the team. The event takes place somewhere in Indiana(I did know but forgot the name) where Kentucky and Indiana will have 4 teams consisting of two players. It is a one day, 36 hole event. The first 18 holes is four ball and the last 18 holes will be alternate shot.

It looks like he is 4th in points to play on the Junior Ryder Cup (at Bowling Green this year). Jr. Ryder Cup Players also get to do a round with the Pro's at Valhalla on the opening Wednesday. How cool would that be?

The Challenge Cup was played at Rock Hollow Golf Course, in Peru, Indiana. Indiana won 537-547.

In Louisville - I would say the top Public school seniors are Brad Black at Butler, Pat Davidson at Manual, and Private wise the St. X seniors (Ratterman, Shearn, etc.) are really solid. Juniors would be Kennedy at Male, Hance at CAL, Tim Scott at Manual,and Tyler O'Daniel at PRP

Steve Rickles is a beast, also his classmate Blake Trimpe when he can keep his head.

Yea medalist in All A region in which he played with 3 guys who couldnt even keep their own score. How do you expect them to keep his score and it be correct? Something smells a little fishy about that score. Russel Rigg is not very good and it shows when he plays with people who know the game and know how to keep score. What did he shoot in the All A State last year. Like 88? There you go my point is proven.

I agree Russel isn't all he's cracked up to be.

Casey Castle of Pikeville should be considered as one of the top players in the class of 2009. He was the Co-Player of the year, for 2008, on the Pepsi Jr. Golf Tour, Gatorade Masters Division. He played in 6 of 10 tournaments and posted 2 firsts, and 4 second place finishes.
