What would be a good draw? Alot of balance across the board.

 

I think Owen,Simon Kenton,or Walton Verona would be ideal for the cats...Gallatin doesn't want to play a Shelby, Anderson, or any of the Oldham's in the first round and then have to turn around and play one of these teams in the second round...Gallatin has handled Owen fairly well the past few years, Walton is soft and doesn't rebound very well, and Simon Kenton beat Gallatin bad last year in the regional tournament and I have a feeling Coach Jones and the cats still haven't forgot about that beatdown....

FWIW, Gallatin County couldn't face off with Owen County until the final round because they are in the same district. But your point is understood. Two tough games to open the tournament can be killer, especially if another team has an easy route.

As an outsider looking in, it appears there are 5 or 6 teams capable of winning that region. Anderson County is 11-0 in the region, but had to go into overtime to win at North Oldham last night. Anderson, Shelby, Gallatin, South Oldham all appear to have a shot. And just based on tradition and the coach I wouldn't count Oldham County out by any means. I have seen alot of good coached Oldham teams in the State Tournament over the years. Heck even North Oldham could knock out South or Oldham in an upset in the district.

It appears wide open and I wouldn't even try to pick an 8th Region winner.

If picking the region winner in January was difficult, things are only getting more muddy through the first two weeks of February.

 

Anderson appears to be the one to knock off since they haven't lost in the Region. However, with the balance of talent and several solid bench coaches, any of a number of other squads could give them a run for their money. Especially if they get hot.

 

The house should be packed for the regional tournament. Every possible matchup looks like a candidate for a nail biter.

I like Anderson Co. with Gallatin Co. a close second.

Sk is to up and down this season, and have a lot of guy's out, due to injury.

 

Oldham County was my pick to win it but just haven't got it done this season.

 

Walton lacks size, and doesn't look crisp right now.

 

Anderson is probably the best all around team this year.

I think as of now North would be the favorite in that district, wouldn't they?
