NDA @ SK Jan 29th Thought's

Featured Replies

Another big NKY game is happening tonight. Thought's on this one?

If the ref's stay out of it I'll take:

NDA by 5.

Simon Kenton by 12.

But that's a pretty big IF @ SK.

You can get evenly called games there, but if there is edge in the way the game is called, it won't be for the visiting team. Been that way for 40 yrs @ SK, I doubt it changes tonight.

That's true brother, Mason played Highlands at Simon Kenton and with Highlands being the Northern Ky team shot 36 FT to Mason's 8. Good Luck ND!!!!!!!!!

I heard that Mason shot 3s all night long and Highlands went in side all night long. I would say that a jump shooting team will shoot less FT than a post team. Also, did Mason fould at the end or just play. Im sure that added about 10 ft to the total but dont bring that up. But i understand people always blame others when the get beat, its just what losers do. Get read to get homered when you play MC at MC im sure the refs will take it away from you, just like they did HHS from what i heard. Oh back to my pick, i will take S.K. because they are better not because of the refs.

This is ridiculous. Let's throw an excuse out there before the game even starts. No offense to past players but SK girls haven't had a good enough team for the officiating to matter until the last 4 or 5 years and maybe a few years in the late 80's early 90's. 40 years of home cooking for the Lady Pioneers is just absurd. I'm with allknower on this one, if SK wins it is because they are the better team. Also, it's kind of odd that they can switch regions and still manage to get a different group of ref's that will call the game for them every game.

Going to SK always meant a looser called game than most places in NKY. That in itself isn't always bad, depended on the team going in and whether they could play an aggressive, rough style. But if its a close game in the 4th quarter, the calls do tend to tighten up on the visiting team. ND is an aggressive team so it shouldn't hurt them early, but look for the hand-checking by ND that's good early, to get called late.

IMO, the refs aren't homecooking anyone at SK since joining the 8th on the boys or girls side. As a matter of fact, you could almost argue the opposite in some cases! I have heard some people say that some of the 8th region refs look at SK as an outsider? Maybe or maybe not so just go and play the game and have the players and coaches adjust accordingly. (By the way, there are a few really good referees in the 8th but they don't always get assigned in Independence. My guess is too far away.)

To the original question. This should be a good game and I will go with SK by 3.

o.k. someone call ND and tell them not to go. I dont want to read the post when the get beat tonight. It wont be a game late to worry about hand checking.

You're right, if it ain't close, it won't matter. But if it is, someone better tell Casey to back off in the 4th Quarter. ND needs her scoring.

SK by 5

SK by 10.
