Simon Kenton at Walton Verona Predictions

Featured Replies

Tiger1, I looked at this old post, with Sk and Walton, and you said SK by a lot (Now you only say 8, I'm glad you see the light with those Bearcats!), and reading above everyone say's SK by "a lot." I predicted first game SK by 10. They won by 11. Walton, always play's SK hard. Last year at Walton, SK only won by 12. At SK this year, they only won by 11. Ponzer (Payton) wants to win against SK with all the drama that is behind that whole issue. You can't count out those Bearcats. I will go Walton by 1!

I figured Walton being at home would give them some points to keep it around an 8 point victory by SK.

This is like comparing apples to oranges. Clearly SK is a bigger school and has more athletes to pick from just like Scott Co. This district at times gets fairly evenly matched until you throw in SK. They, just like Scott Co. when they were in this district, walk all over the other teams. Who won't love to see an upset! Go Bearcats!

SK by 20+.

I would have expected nothing less from you.

This game will come down to what style SK decides to play. If the decide to play to WV's weakness, then they will slow the game down and pound it inside. If that happens...could be a long night in Walton. If not, and they want to try to press and run up and down, well it could be a tie for the #1 seed in the district by the time the night is over.

I'll agree with you that that is the way WV has a chance, but I think even if SK does play an uptempo game they will do it better than Walton. We probably won't see that though because SK will more than likely try to get Maegley the ball everytime down the court.

If the best players in the 8th region show up it will be WV by 5, it will be the Ponzer show and Maegley won't be a factor.

Don't think the Bearcats have anyone who can stop Maegley if SK decides to pound it inside. SK's guards will contain Ponzer with their aggressive defensive.

You can not compare any team in that District to Scott Co.:thumb:

Nor ANY team in the 8th region for that matter. Be careful, i would hate for you to fall off that pedestal.

Actually the comparison makes sense. SK has dominated the ditrict with relative ease much the same as Scott County did. They weren't comparing the programs of SK and Scott County, just the way that they owned this district.

He was saying they had the choice of athletes just like Scot!

No, he said they have more athletes to choose from than WV like Scott County did, which is true. It doesn't matter I don't feel like getting a thread shut down so let's just get back to the game.

They should dominate being the largest school in the district. Walton and Williamstown shouldn't be challenge based solely on the numbers. Grant has been down for years so they won't provide a challenge to SK. If I was in that district, I'd rather play SK than Scott Co. anyday.

WV may come out playing hard after all A, or many times the opposite is true. I look for this to be close but I believe SK will pull it out.

I would like to see the upset though for Walton.
