As a long time Charger fan, I found Rivers' performance yesterday to be worthy of merit and LT's to be worthy of disgust. Gates has gone for two weeks on a dislocated toe, Rivers can barely move and he goes out there and plays his guts out, LT sits on the sideline behind his shaded visor looking like Kenny in South Park. LT = Lacking Testicles. I'm horribly disappointed.

The Patriots made the plays to win. Faulk in particular, I don't know how he hung on to a couple of those in the cold.

Holy cow!

The Patriots have not looked overly impressive in several weeks now but they continue to win. Brady has a horrible game, they lose the turnover battle, etc. and they still find a way to win--and win rather easily. The sign of a great team: finding a way to win when you don't play you best.

Agree 100%. I can't stand Rivers but the kid played with a partially torn ACL. It doesn't get much worse then that without being down and out. He definitely showed guts, and really didn't play that bad. LT showed nothing but how to quit.

Wow...I'm surprised by the backlash on LT. Is it a stretch to think that a running back's performance could be hampered fare more by his leg being hurt? I give Rivers some big time credit for gutting it out, but I'm not going to rip LT. It looked like to me he came up a little gimpy on his last play when he ran out of bounds. I doubt anyone wanted to be in that game any worse than he did, so if he didn't play, then I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he did what was best for him and the team. A healthy Turner would be more effective than a gimpy LT. Maybe I'm wrong, but LT has given me no reason to think he is a quitter during his career...I have to believe he would have been playing in the biggest game of his career if it was possible.

The biggest question for me is had LT been healthy, how many of those FG's in the red zone would have been TD's? That was the difference in the game...the Chargers played well enough to win with the exception of their red-zone execution.

He practiced Thursday, Friday, and in Saturday walk-through, made a big deal to the media about how ready to go he was, took snaps away from Turner and Sproles in practice. Goes out, runs twice and a swing pass, and then puts the jacket on. I think he could've at least rotated series, maybe two to Turner and 1 to him, just exactly like Gates did with Nanee and Manumaleuna. Give the Patriots, something, anything, to contend with in the short pass game. I think with LT in the Chargers score at least 1 TD and maybe 2 in those red-zone series. Shown his TEAM that he was ready to play the last game of his career, if necessary, to get them to the Super Bowl. Rivers did. Looked like a dork, gimpin' around out there, but made some plays, made some throws, and showed his teammates that he was a MAN. look what Castillo said of him after the game. That could've been LT. Now, I have doubts about his commitment level . . .

You may be right and I won't argue...you're the Chargers fan, so I'll defer to you and assume you keep better tabs on the team and such. It just surprised me a little. LT always seems like the type of guy who gives it his all and lays it on the line, so I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. However, you do make a good point about him practicing during the week...maybe he tweaked it when he got into real game action, who knows? Or, maybe you're right...maybe he needs to man up and show some guts in the biggest game of his career.

With an LT at 100%, I absolutely believe San Diego would have scored at least one TD in the red zone...they may have very well won that game had they been 100%. Their defense did an outstanding job against Brady and the passing game. Cromartie is a freak...he may be the best corner in the game.

I'm just testing this quick reply thing out to see how it works and what it does...

So...I don't get it...what did it do that was any different than a regular post?
