Campbell County vs. Holmes 1/22

Haven't had a chance to see Holmes in person yet, but from everything I've heard, these are not your father's (or even last year's) Bulldogs. They reportedly play much more disciplined, team oriented ball, and play some serious "D" themselves. They've played a pretty decent schedule so far, so I'm guessing they've seen some "D" before. I'd like to see the Camels pull the upset, but don't see it happening. When is this one?

Campbell County has yet to beat a team with a with a winning record. According to KHSAA the record of the teams the Camels have beat as of 1/20/08 is 57-123. Holmes comes into the game with a record of 16-1 with its only loss to Male. Holmes should win this game by 20.

Just because they don't have one now doesn't mean they never did. I highly doubt that holmes will win by 20. I know their a good team but Mason didn't even win by that much (I am aware that they pulled their starters when they were up about 25) and Mason's offense is much much better than Holmes'.

What does it matter what the record was when they played them? Of course some team were above 500 at the time. Hard to be under 500 in your first and second game of the year. Until the Camels prove they can defeat a quality opponent they will struggle with this game and their upcoming schedule.

It definatly matters when your saying that they haven't beat a team above

.500. Who cares what kind of a team they are after they play them? thats not what anyone cares about. If a team is 10-0 going into a game that they lose then after that they go on to 10 straight losses does that mean that they weren't a good team when they went into that first loss??

I guess I look at things a little different than you. Just how good was a team that finishes 10-10. Campbell County is currently 11-5. I guess if they go on and lose the next 10 games (Will not happen) and finish 11-15 they would be considered a quality win because you beat them when they were 11-5.

 

But since this is a Holmes - Campbell County game thread and not a thread on what make a team a quality win I will stick with my prediction of Holmes by 20 and leave the other discussion for another thread.

Contrasting styles! Campbell doesn't seem to like full court pressure and Holmes isn't nearly as good in the half court as when they run. I'll take the Bulldogs in this one. I don't think the Camels can make it a half-court game.
