Looks like another season of "mediocrity" for Coach Bennett and the Bearcats. I'm sure all you WV faithful's are ok with that though.....

 

 

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the Bearcats finish the season at 14-15.....

 

I guess on the bright side, they are not losing to those teams. I know Coach Bennett has worked hard at building the feeder system and Walton should start to see some results of that in the near future.

Is it me or does Walton dribble the ball entirely too much? It's hard to run and offense when everytime they swing the ball, someone wants to dribble it. With all due respect to Trimble County, this is a terrible loss for Walton. Congrats to Trimble.

I'll agree with that statement IF you agree that Walton's 53-39 win over Trimble back on December 11th was a terrible win for Walton. I saw very little complaining over that win. Three players in double digits for WV both nights...you scored more last night. With all due respect to you, this statement shows no respect for Trimble's progress.

Trimble has certainly made progress, I wouldn't deny that. They played hard and made plays when they needed to. When you don't guard people, you don't win games that you should. Every team has games on their schedule in which they feel like they should win and last night was one of those for Walton. I'm guessing there weren't many people that were predicting a Trimble County win. As I said before, no disrespect intended toward Trimble County.

With the All "A" in 2 weeks, what a boost for Trimble to come away with the win.

 

Walton will rebound, but they need to turn things around quickly for the All "A".

Let's face it, Walton had a bad night. Did not shoot the ball well, did not rebound (should have won in regulation if someone would have boxed out), and did not get back on defense. They probably overlooked Trimble because we handed it to them the first time and we would hand it to them 9 times out of 10!

Yep you're right. I didn't look at the list that closely. I thought Trimble played hard last night and made big plays down the stretch. One thing they did that impressed me last night was their ability to make a 12-15 jump shot. I really thought when #50 fouled out for Trimble that Walton would have an advantage, but Trimble out worked Walton and made the critical shots in overtime to get the win.

Honestly, I thought that we were sunk when both #50 and #22 (Law) fouled out. However, the rest of the team stepped up...they showed that they can overcome adversity.

From reading the post the other day when you questioned why Ponzer was taking the clutch shots (Not shoots, jethro!), I'm gonna go out on a limb, and guess you are trying to imply Ponzer is costing them games. What a joke! You are obviously some couch potatoe who has never played a game of competitive basketball in your life. Have you even been to all the games? I have been to all of the games this season, except for the tournament games and I can tell you, he is the catalyst for the games they win. And as for the games they lose;it is because they sit around trying to get the three instead of taking it to the rim, and not playing good defense. I'm not sure about any internal problems, but I do know that no one is more unselfish a player than Payton Ponzer. I think maybe you got some sort of hard on for the kid, and thats more your problem than the teams, so try to keep it to yourself.

But that is not the only problem with this team they are fighting with each other at practice and after. Ponzer is a selfish player and has been the last two years. Wow, if you are going to take shots at somebody do it at the other poster and not the high school kid. If there was a problem then surely the coaches would handle it. Seeing as how they still play him and run him at the point I'm guessing that they must not see as much as you are. Honestly, it sounds like you are either a player or relative of a player that didn't like the fact that your boy or brother isn't/wasn't getting the shots that you felt he should. Also, being a supporter of Walton you wouldn't think that you would want to post all over the internet that the team is having problems and such. If there are the problems that you speak of, surely you aren't trying to blame it all on one kid are you?

You would think that, but then again these are two of the most up and down teams you'll see. Walton gives Gallatin a heck of a game and could have won, then they lose to Trimble. SK plays great through 3 and a half quarters against Boone only to blow it at the end.
