January 7, 200818 yr Author The best strategy to beat McConnell is to get clips of his stupid remarks and play them over and over. That would work for Bunning too. Bunning is a dead man walking if he plans to run in 2010. Chandler will whipe the floor with him. I agree though, McConnell is cut from the same cloth that Bush and Fletcher were cut from - and that doesn't look good on us.

I guess by us, you are saying you and Morehead because I have no problem being aligned with Bush, Fletcher and McConnell. I would have a problem being aligned with candidates such as Hillary and possibly Edwards. Obama, if he didn't have the stance on abortion, I could easily find myself supporting him.
January 7, 200818 yr McConnell won't be voted out. Bunning needs to resign after this term. I like Katie Stine and would like to see her take Bunning's Senate position.
January 7, 200818 yr If John Yarmuth can beat Ann Northrup, I believe there must be a contender who could beat McConnell. I just don't know who it is. Yarmuth wouldn't have beaten Northup any other year. It was the perfect storm for her to be voted out of office. People were voting AGAINST Bush not Northup. Frankly I haven't seen too many people around here that have been ecstatic with the job Yarmuth has done thus far. Anne may well want to consider running again, I would not be surprised to see her retake her seat if she wanted to run again in 2008.
January 7, 200818 yr Author I guess by us, you are saying you and Morehead because I have no problem being aligned with Bush, Fletcher and McConnell. Our state in general. Just because you have no problem being aligned with them - doesn't mean you look bad for doing so. I would have a problem being aligned with candidates such as Hillary and possibly Edwards. I know what you mean. Standing up for human rights and wanting to bring our troops home from the quagmire in Iraq are horrible traits. I should write them a letter! Obama, if he didn't have the stance on abortion, I could easily find myself supporting him. One-issue politics hurts.

Standing up for human rights and wanting to bring our troops home from the quagmire in Iraq are horrible traits. I should write them a letter! One-issue politics hurts. On your last issue, I find it ironically humorous that Democrats rail on a war that has taken the amount of lives that abortions take in 36 hours. And yet they defend the right for this country to take 4000 lives in about 36 hours. And where is it that Republicans have not stood up for human rights. I have heard Huckabee, and one of the main things that drew me to his candidancy, that we have to be a country that helps people out. I remember him defending his educating the children of illegal immigrants by saying we are a better country than to not educate children in this country. If I look bad in defending unborn children than so be it. I will wear that mantle proudly. I think those who stand up and try to logically say that the baby in the womb of a mother is not a baby is the one that comes off looking foolish. The Republicans were the ones who stood up for the rights of slaves and they got it right than too. And the Dems have tried hard and successfully in 2006, to make this race a one-issue race. The war.

I could not possibly, humanly disagree with you any more. The War is such an important issue and damaging one to any Bush supporters that it probably feels like its the only issue we care about. This is hardly the case. However, due to the War - America is unable to fund so many programs that would be vitale to helping our country at home. We could have used the millions upon millions to fund Operation Iraqi Liberation to fund programs for health care, education, immigration, and domestic programs. Democrats stand up for human rights. We give the rights to a woman to choose how to operate her own body - her womb included. I personally am against abortion after there is a recognizable heart beat. My opinion does not give me the right to force a woman in having a baby though. We stand for the rights of homosexuals to experience the same basic rights that heterosexuals experience. We stand for the rights of those who can't afford healthcare and think that it is a human right to be given it. We stand for rights. Republicans, by and large, stand for oppression and a following of The Bible over the Constitution.

On the bolded, show me in the Democrat platform them pursuing a women's right for prostitution. for legally using drugs? Or is it okay for Democrats to be with society and tell them that it is not legal for them to use their body in those fashions? On the second bolded, since the Dems are SSSOOO concerned with human rights like heterosexuals have, please show me the Democrat platform that give polygamists the same rights of heterosexuals. The last statement is so ridiculous it deserves no response. It is typically political rhetoric that is designed to illicit an emotional response that is not grounded in fact. And especially from a poster that wants to look at things logically.
January 7, 200818 yr I like Katie Stine and would like to see her take Bunning's Senate position. And for the record in the other thread where you say I will do anything to make the Democrats look bad. Katie Stine is a Democrat.:thumb: who if I remember right is pro-life. Don't try to paint me with a brush when you have NO IDEA who you are painting.

Katie Stine is a Democrat.:thumb: who if I remember right is pro-life. Don't try to paint me with a brush when you have NO IDEA who you are painting. This post looks nice and everything. There's only one problem. Katie Stine is a Republican...and she's also a hardcore wingnut. Let me quote bluegrassreport.org: Senate President Katie Stine, R-Fort Thomas, and Sen. Jack Westwood, R-Crescent Springs, also said the legislature should consider allowing intelligent design to be taught in the classroom. "I don't see a problem," Stine said.

The rights you quote unquote stand for are simply a mask for humanistic ideals in which you feel everyone should be able to continue to make poor descisions without consequence. If it feels good, do it. Gay marriage has not just been religiously unexceptable, it has also been historically socially unexceptable. Healthcare is already available for the disabled who deserve it. Not being willing or motivated to aquire health care through proper employment does not make it something else that my tax dollars should pay for. Every ideal of your party goes against simple economic principles. How can you expect human beings not to take advantage of a handout? How can you expect one abortion not to turn in to multiples when a person is not forced to take responsibility for their poor descision the first time around. BTW, the further we move from the principles of the Bible, the closer we Will be moving to the fall of our so called society.

BTW, the further we move from the principles of the Bible, the closer we Will be moving to the fall of our so called society. I disagree with you strongly in some of your assertions of what are "poor decisions." Giving all Americans health care is not a "poor decision." I see health care as a human right that should be granted to all. The basic need to be taken care of should not be dependent on if someone works. And furthermore, it really doesn't matter if one works anyway. The current healthcare system is so screwed up that even those with healthcare find it increasingly difficult to have their medical bills paid for. Americans should not fear healthcare as so many do. I talked to a man in Louisville, for example, that found a mass on his body that he fears could be early stages of cancer. He has, at this point, refused to go to the doctor because he his health insurance won't cover the full expenses of his doctor visits based on the dreaded "pre-existing conidtion." Now that is simply not right. Healthcare should be as accessibly as free public education. The money we are wasting in Iraq - could help us fund such health care initives. If we can afford to kill people - we can afford to heal people.
January 7, 200818 yr Author Two sides to an issue. BTW, the scientific community is also split on the issue. Yes, there are many acredited scientist that believe in intelligent design. Really wasn't the issue - but we can debate this in another thread. The point was that LBBC tried to say that Sen. Stine was a pro-life democrat when in fact she is a wingnut Republican.
