Game was hotly contested the whole way. Gallatin tied the game at 38 with 2:20 left in the third, but 4 straight turnovers led to a 46-38 Bulldog advantage.

The Cats scored 6 straight to trail 48-46 with 6 minutes left, but Arrez Henderson scored 8 straight to make it 56-48. The lead grew to 60-48, but Gallatin scored 7 straight to make it 60-55 with 2:00 left.

However, Holmes connected on their free throws and held off the Cats for the win. Henderson led the Bulldogs with 24 and Taylor Jones scored 18 for GC.

Sounds to me like the Wildcats have learned a thing or two about playing against the "big boys". The Wildcats will compete for third place tomorrow.

They play the Newport-Daviess Co. loser at 6:15. After playing Holmes either would be a tough matchup with their 4th game in 4 days. Plus, Scott Brown sat out the 2nd half with a foot injury.

Talked to Coach Jones after the game and he said he rolled the ankle and would likely not play tomorrow. Overall, I think Scott will be fine, just needs a few days to let it heal up.

What an awesome game to have watched. Gallatin gave it their all, and almost came away with a win. I think Gallatin has a legitimate shot to win the 8th in March. Coach Jones and the boys have made believers out of many of the faithful, and a few of the haters as well;)

Gallatin Co. to my knowledge travels very well. I went to Richmond last year for the all A and there was in my estimation more than 2,000 people cheering for them. One whole side was Blue and White.

I figured Holmes would win, but i'm glad to hear GC play'd tough with "the big boys." GC is pretty good this year. I missed the game, but GC will bounce back and play great!
