Guys ....Corbin's main man hasnt even hit the court yet!:scared:

Coach Humphery and the Cards are a class bunch. I look forward to following GRC as the season progresses. Granted Mason is very impressive, but the Cards are young and will really get after you on defense.

Corbin and Cumberland would be a great game after Corbin gets Crawford back.

Yes, I got to catch it. Great game to watch. Hounds need to shoot FT's better in the future. One can not fault the effort of both teams. Should be a dandy tournament the rest of the way.

Thanks man! The way I heard things.... bad calls were on both teams ...

 

Bad calls both ways. I was there. Corbin played hard and won a good game.

How about the obvious foul on the big kid that they let go...would have been 5! How about the steal Corbin made only to get the whistle called after the fact... Just a few...maybe not enough to make up for all the calls against MC I guess.

First things first, officiating is a thankless job. I often hear people complain about the fact that there is a decline the level of officiating in our state. I think that is in direct correlation with the complaining by fans, coaches, and anyone else that thinks they could have done it better.

 

Officials miss calls, but I rarely have seen a blatant attempt to cheat teams, coaches, and/or players. I find myself often questioning calls (yelling) at the games, but if I was put in some of the situations that officials are put in: Coaches yelling at them, fans screaming at them, players giving them strange looks, and then wondering if when I got home how many people would bad mouth me on certain websites, I would crack under the pressure.

 

I for one think we should show these guys more support, before we are left with a group that cannot perform to the level of basketball that most of our high school teams are now playing.

 

I will leave you with this:

 

Did Madison Central get some bad calls? Yes they did. A few fouls could have been overlooked. A few fouls on Corbin that were not called.

 

Did Corbin get some bad calls? Yes they did. A time out was given to Madison Central during a crucial part of the game and Corbin had taken possession of the ball. The no call when Madison Central’s big man should have got his 5th foul.

 

In the end, I still feel that Corbin got themselves to the foul line by driving towars the basket and Madison Central settled for jump shots.

 

It was a great game in an exciting atmosphere. I think that both teams will improve as the season continues, and could very well make it to Rupp.

Bad calls both ways. I was there. Corbin played hard and won a good game.

 

Not sure what game you were watching. It's sometimes hard to see how bias officiating is when your team is playing. It was a good win for Corbin and their kids play extremely hard.

This is still a good win for Corbin against a good team. The Corbin kids really play hard. However, if I was Madison Central and Rockcastle Co. I would seriously reconsider any future plans to play in the Hoopin it Up after the way they were done tonight. It was truly an embarrassment. The one referee everyone is talking about should not be allowed to rob high school kids the way he did tonight.

 

I have been hearing a lot of that from Rockcastle, Walton-Verona, and Madison Central fans and players.

Great post. I was there and hey, there is always bad calls at games. Refs are human beings that make mistakes. How about the one when Corbin makes a steal and has possession of the ball and THEN MC coach calls timeout???

 

When you take the ball strong to the basket and the other team is worn out from pressing and playing man defense then you are going to get hacked!

 

I have never seen as much cry baby stuff over a HOLIDAY TOURNAMENT that doesn't really amount to a hill of beans! What ref in their right mind would try to influence the outcome of a meaningless game. Madison Central is a very good basketball team, but they need to stop reaching in and hand checking so much. Either do that or quit complaining about the refs making the calls.

Great post Comic Book Guy. It has been a really long time since I heard fans of a losing team say "boy, they really whipped us tonight. We should have played better."

 

Of course it is always the refs fault.
