December 21, 200718 yr :thumb: I had 3rd lunch for a couple of semesters... Chicken sandwiches were my favorite lunch item and they were ALWAYS out of them by the time I got down there.. Cold ham and cheese 4/5 days a week. Yeah I had 3rd lunch for a semester it always sucked. You'd talk to your friends ask them what was for lunch they say chicken sandwiches and tater tots then you'd go to lunch and get cold ham and cheese sanwiches with tots.

December 22, 200718 yr I don't envy the lunch ladies, but honestly there was one at Manual when I went there that was so slow, I was half tempted to go behind the counter and just get her out of the way and do it myself to make things go by 50 times faster just so some of the kids could actually GET their lunch. I never did get into the habit of bringing a lunch, even though I often tried.
December 23, 200718 yr Well I have to say at my school the lunches are awesome. The students have the same schedule every day so some of the students do eat last every day, but they have never complained about the cooks running out of food. Our cooks space the items out so every group will have a chance at each item. They always have two main menu items every day, plus they always have a choice of chef salad, cold cut or pbj sandwiches. We also are on a universal free breakfast and lunch program which I believe is our 15th year, so none of the students in our district know what it is like for some of the students to pay for breakfast and lunch.
