Bengals/49ers Updates

If he does it that way then it can be ruled a catch, but the problem was he was bobbling it which consitutes him as not having possession.... I agree it doesn't matter.

I get what your saying but im not a ref or anything. I didn't know if the play ended when he went out of bounds, if so its a TD. But I wasn't sure if he had to bring it down out of bounds as well. He caught the ball in bounds and dropped it out.

I believe he did gain control as he fell out of bounds, but since his momentum was taking him to the ground, he must maintain possession as he hits the ground.

So is the game over or what?

It was over before it started

It was over before it started

Hope it's the same way when they play the Browns.

There was 7 people on the Bengals contest and 0 picked the 49ers. The 49ers had a 3rd string qb in and won. What a joke.

If a player catches the ball in the endzone while his momentum is taking him to the ground, whether out of bounds or in-bounds, and he gets two feet down, that player still has to maintain possession of the ball after hitting the ground. You have to complete the catch.

True, but he didn't have possession in bounds, unless you think by the time he trapped it on his legs he was still able to get 2 feet in. It really doesn't matter but he never had possession in bounds.

I think he did gain control before hitting the ground, but I didn't pay much attention to his feet since he lost it when hitting the ground.
