December 12, 200718 yr I am not willing to say abortion is WRONG when I say it may be OKAY even 1% of the time. Even in rape, the baby did nothing wrong. So, to me, you can only be 100% pro-life with no grey areas. It is not hte babies fault you were raped so how can you justify "murder" in 1% of those cases. Abortion is always a poor choice ---even with rape. While I can understand the mother perhaps not wanting to raise a child from a rape situation there are countless families that would love to adopt a baby. Put it up for adoption.
December 12, 200718 yr This thread has ventured way off topic. If you want to discuss what you believe about abortion then open a NEW thread about that. Do not discuss it here unless it pertains to, and is in context with, the original topic.
December 13, 200718 yr The language is a result of the democrats NOT SUPPORTING issues and values that the so-called religious right deem importance. Do you vote for candidates that best support your views on matters? Why should it be any different for the supposed "religious right?" Shouldn't they vote for candidates that best represent them and their views and values? I would definitely be labed as religious right, (I think Democrats call us something like Blue Dog Democrats) but voted for Ken Lucas, Democrat, because he represented the values and views I hold dear. Is that the big bad thing you are talking about? I am voting and be vocal for people that represent my views and values? You find me a Democrat candidate that thinks abortion is a scourge on our society and wants to work to overturn it and he will probably get my support. PLEASE find me one. You are correct, I am the same as well. The most famous Kentuckian to be a Blue-Dog is Ben Chandler.
December 13, 200718 yr I think Huckabee may be getting off easy here. He's avoided the scrutiny that comes along with being at the top of the pack so far. Now that he is there, the picking apart begins during the holiday season. How many people are concerned with the flaws the Republican hopefuls with Christmas fast approaching? The primaries kick off right after the new year, that doesn't leave much time for evidence to mount either.
December 14, 200718 yr Habib, heard an interesing thing on one of the talk shows or radio shows or something. Said Kerry was behind the back in 2004 and Dean was who everyone was worried about. They had binders of negative material on Dean. And when they unleashed all of that and Dean started falling back, Kerry surged forward whom they had nothing on because he was, I believe, 4th in Iowa and no one at that point was worried about him. By the time, they did get stuff, it was too late for the primaries and all came out in the general election by the Republicans.
