The 1982 team was on the field with the 2007 team...why didn't they just strap em up and have at it last night?

I was there and after seeing some of those guys, I dont know if a couple of them would have made it back off the field!

With all respect my friend, does this really accomplish anything? Its really impossible to say if the 1968 team was better or the 2004 or the 1982 or the etc, etc, etc. Lets just enjoy the championship and not start the bickering amongst Highlands fans over this sort of subject.

Trust me, there was no malicious intent with this thread! I am sure that all HHS players, past, present, and future, are loving this victory, just as they have the previous 16! It is something interesting to consider, though!

They were all champions of their time, and they were all great teams. It's hard to compare. But the one thing you can say about the 2007 team, is their depth!! If someone went down or needed a break they could replace them with a player as good as the one they took out, with out breaking stride.

I can tell you this, It is one of the best 11 teams in schools history.

I think Dale has it right with his statement that this team's "greatness" is only because they "stand on the shoulders of the teams before them".

I couldn't agree more with Dale's quote. The HHS Football Program and Tradition has been built by great teams, commited players and coaches, and a great community support system.

Lets step out of Ft. Thomas. The 2007 Birds squad is without debate, the best every in Ky!!!!!

For my money, I think the '98 Highlands team may be the best Tri-state High School team ever.

 

Better than the Moeller and Princeton teams of the 70's????
