I guess first of all...congrats to CC. I'm sure it was nice for them to beat BB after losing to BB for several years in a row. As someone who always supports the "small" schools, i'll have to agree with c-squared's posts. I don't think you can compare BB with a lot of the other Class A schools. It's just not the same. Whether people want to admit it or not....it isn't. With that being said, you can't take anything away from what BB has been able to accomplish over the last several years. Mike Code does an excellant job and will continue to, i'm sure. IMO, i would hope that they measure their success against other 10th region schools outside of the "A" schools because that would be more realistic.

I am happy the Brossart faithful believes in its future. Make no mistake the Camels have just as strong faith. The fact is one of the middle teams lost to one of the feeder schools and would not beat the other one. There are two and talk of three middle school teams for each grade level. The JV team, if some of the seniors would have developed would force a few juniors and soph to play jv and that would make a different story. Sad fact is the last coach played politics in keeping parent happy choices on the team last year. The new coach who I don't know clearly has set his expectation level on his first day. The freshman, hands down very good and will show great things. The 8th and 7th grade teams are very good. Add to the mix is the word an elementary school league will be in the mix starting next year and now the Camel pipeline will fill up. Plus having the best facilities, improved support and frankly, what has happened is a sleeping giant woke up. The enrollment is going up while other schools have gone down or stayed flat. The kids from the private schools is growing each year after a decade of decline. Something is going on and the something is for the first time ever, Campbell County is actively making a statement of being in things to win.

Saying that, I think it is very unfair to force Brossart to spend its resources and time to go after students who are being sold on NC that live in the area of Brossarts boundaries. I know this fight has gone on forever and I know some at St. Joe who take advantage of it for NC. I do not know for a fact but it seems Brossart's building efforts to improve, paid for by its supporters are always held back by the bishop and maybe others (behind the scenes). Brossart should not have to deal with that kind of lukewarm vision.

This is one high school basketball game and also one high school basketball season. It will not determine the future, short term or long term. Everything in life is cyclical, including the successes and talents of high school basketball programs. Brossart enjoyed five plus straight years of success aqainst its neighbor to the south and for now it is campbell's turn. It is not some major cosmic shift that will last for the rest of time. Brossart kids will continue to go to Brossart and campbell kids will continue to go to campbell. Let's not make too much out of one game or season.
