Congrats to the Owls, a win is a win but, Leslie is bad this year.

I'm almost surprised the score is this close. I'm a Leslie fan & know how inexperienced they are & I know that they are not going to be a good team this year. I hope they prove me and the rest of the 14th region wrong but I just don't see it. The only upside I see with them is that I know with a coach like Tim Sizemore, they will bring the defensive intensity each and every night. Sadly though, as much as defense wins games, it's not going to win this team to many but their opponents will at least have to play hard to beat them.

 

Who played well for either team?

I have no clue I would have to say that from reading line scores the McIntosh kid from Owsley can fill it up, and probably keyed on the inexperience of Leslie

I was there and neither team played very well. Leslie is a very aggressive team and there were lots of rough play, in which the game could have easily gotten out of hand. Leslie has has alot of depth and is a good defensive team. Their players seemed pretty even, so it didn't seem to matter who was on the floor for the Eagles, so they kept playing aggressively and this defense hurt Owsley. One thing I can say for Owsley is they never gave up, kept fighting back, even though their field goal and free throw shooting was poor. It was said earlier, a win's a win. Congrats Owsley!!!!

Don't downgrade this win for the Owls, and in the process downgrade Leslie as well. Neither school deserves that.

Both these teams will always play hard and you will have to play hard to beat them. Both teams have good coaches and I aggree with the Professor. Both these teams will be a tough out come District time and I really look for Owsley to be really good once they figure out Coach Noble's style and he figures out each players strengths.

Please don't take this out of context. This was a good test for both teams and a qaulity win for the Owls, maybe I shouldn't have said Leslie is bad. Would inexperienced be a better term. I wasn't there but from what the score indicates, it would have been an excellent game to be at.

Wow, Professor, that is an amazing stat.

 

McIntosh is going to have a real strong this year. I look forward to seeing how the owls perform against Estill Tuesday, as I think they are two strongest teams in the district.
