Agree Jeanie. Good win for the cats. Hopefully they shoot the ball well against Boone on Friday. Kirk did a nice job getting some boards and putting the ball back in against GC. He will have his hands full against BC though.

Thanks. Looking forward to some good conversations. :ylsuper:

Like T & S said. Guys need to quit with all the attitudes (Ponzer, Martin) and play ball. Ponzer can play but it seems that someone has to do something to get him going.

What was with Ponzer leaving the game with under one minute and Martin going in for him. GC did the right thing and put him at the line. Walton needs to be able to hit free throws at the end of game. Glad that Jones showed up last night. He played well.

Sorry, I said Martin and I meant Harper.

Just a thought about the "attitude" some people seem to think Martin and Ponzer are putting out there. I believe it is good for the team, and it is what I would call "heart". Personally, it is refreshing and alot better than the horse hockey I've been watching for the last couple of years from Walton. Maybe being fired up is something you all should get used to. Maybe you all aren't used to seeing competitve people on Walton's floor. I personally think it is a refreshing change, and hope to see Martin and Ponzer's "attitude" infect the whole team.

"Attitude" and "heart" as you call it..are too totally different things. Just to refresh your memory, there have been a lot of kids play at Walton that have played with "heart" but without the "attitude". I'll be the first to say the I think Ponzer and Martin both play extremely hard and that is refreshing to watch however they're not the first one's out there who have ever played hard. Its the constant moaning and complaining about every call is what needs to stop. As far the statement that "you aren't used to seeing competitve people on Walton's floor" -- just tells me that you don't know anything about Walton.

Sometimes that can be good thing and sometimes a bad thing. You don't want it to get to out of control. I think that everyone plays hard. All Walton kids have always played hard. As far back as I can remember (Johnny Anderson class of 81). There have been years when Walton has not had as good as talent as in the past but have always played hard. As far as infecting the whole team, let's hope not becasue some kids won't be able to play and will lose all control. Everyone plays hard but without the theatrics.

I remember that class as well. Folks like Andy Burns always played hard. The district game against Simon Kenton really comes to mind. You didn't see "attitude" with that group.

Attitude (moaning and complaining) and competitive heart (giving it your all and showing excitement as well as disappointment) are two completely different things. If the attitude were to infect the whole team it would be the beginning of the end for this season. I wasn't at the game so I didn't see what the discussion is about, just putting my two cents in on attitude and heart.

I pretty much think that if Walton is playing good and winning, then don't fix it! :)

"Attitude" will 'bite' you at some point in the season.

As an oldtimer, I also remember alot of competive people from Walton, going all the way back to Johnny Anderson and Burns. Not saying Walton has never seen it. I just think that the attitude Martin and Ponzer bring to the table is good and I call it heart and a desire to win. Since some people see things differently, we'll have to agree to disagree. I just hope the kids don't read these sights and let the negative vibes people put out there about their teammates infect the team. I think they are playing great right now. As for moaning to officials, I haven't seen any of the kids get out of line with that.

I don't think anyone should think of this as a negitive thing for the boys!?? It's something that the boy's should watch for then if so many poeple see it. No one is saying this to be on or mean to Ponzer or Martin or Harper or Kirk or any of the boy's, it's just something that could hurt the team later on in the season (True Blue (and Gold) said). It's helpful tips. Nothing to be negitive. Your reading into this to much. It's something poeple see and sharing, not being negitive. We want the boy's to fix it so they become even better.:ylsuper: We all want the boy's to be great this year!

People are talking like it's been forever since Walton has been competitive? Maybe 3 years? Let's face it. Last year's team showed ZERO emotion. As stated above, I like seeing the fire these guys possess.

I agree! I like the fire, but I just don't think the boy's should take the 'attitude' thing bad, or negative like BBFanTimesTwo said. It's just something the boy's have to watch for. Nothing negative.
