November 11, 200718 yr Cleveland picked 3rd... Peterson is great, but Joe Thomas was the right pick there. I thought he was talking about with the Quinn pick.
November 11, 200718 yr I am quite happy with what the Browns did in the draft. Joe Thomas is going to be a mainstay for a LONG time. Adrian Peterson is a great back, who might become the best ever, but the Browns were MUCH more in need of a Left Tackle. Sounds like Anderson was not very accurate today. WebGems: A. You were at a bar at the end of a very hotly contested game between two bitter rivals. B. Do you really think there aren't some Steelers fans out there that would have done the same thing? All fan bases have some less than desirables.

November 11, 200718 yr Peterson is the TOP pick in all fantasy drafts next year... as of right now. No way to compare a LT to a RB. It was the right pick for the Browns. You can not be a good team without a good OL.
November 11, 200718 yr Peterson is the TOP pick in all fantasy drafts next year... as of right now. Fantasy football means nothing. Thomas was the correct pick for the Browns needs. Their O-Line has been terrible, and he was a much needed addition. I think the Browns would rather fill their holes than worry about having the best fantasy player.
November 11, 200718 yr He was accurate for the first 20 minutes. On your last point, yup. According to the Browns radio guys (I couldn't get the game, but my dad could) he missed a lot of open guys in the second half.
November 11, 200718 yr According to the Browns radio guys (I couldn't get the game, but my dad could) he missed a lot of open guys in the second half. He did that. But the Steeler DBs played a lot better in the second half (actually the second half and the final 5 minutes of the first half). This win goes to them.
November 11, 200718 yr You can't just go out and find a guy who will be a mainstay of your offensive line for a long time. Thomas appears to be that kind of guy. Peterson is an amazing talent, but he was simply not what the Browns needed.

Certainly Jamal Lewis wasnt what they needed.......of course any RB can get hurt at any time but if he stays healthy he will continue to put LT and LJ and whoever else to shame.

I figured that the Browns would not be able to score at the pace they are used to on the Steelers. Their defense is tough. I hope that the games can continue to be close, and hopefully the Browns might be able to pull a few out in the next few years! Is William Gay seeing any time for the Steelers?

What they needed was a Left Tackle. It was their most glaring need, and they went out and filled it with a guy who I expect to make many many Pro Bowls. You can't ask for them to do any better.

I don't recall seeing him hit the field. He didn't record a tackle today.
