November 13, 200718 yr Eric Gordon is the best freshman that I have seen in a long time. He was just as impressive on the defensive end tonight as he was with the ball. Chattanooga had some small, quick guards but none of them could shake Gordon. Even the threes that Gordon missed looked good. When UTC tried pressuring him on the perimeter, he blew by his defenders like they were nailed to the floor. Did you happen to catch any Texas games last year, they had a decent freshman!

November 13, 200718 yr Without Rose or Gordon their teams are not Title contenders. With them they are. For me that says it all. In that light Love could have been ranked higher. Flynn and Patterson are a lot alike in your terms. Without them Cuse and UK are hurting... Memphis is still probably a title contender without Rose, although he is a piece that makes them atleast preseason #2.

November 13, 200718 yr Author So GT, would it be safe to say your "crush" on Rose is on the same level as Durant last year? A few small steps lower. He's a lot less about being the star and more the final piece to a complicated puzzle...
November 13, 200718 yr Did you happen to catch any Texas games last year, they had a decent freshman! I have seen lots of freshmen who could score but Gordon already has the ability to dominate a game defensively. Sampson said in his post game show that Gordon was the best defensive player on the court tonight and I doubt that anybody in Assembly Hall tonight would disagree.

People tend to forget Durant dominating the defensive glass and blocking shots. They will do the same with Gordon...
