#2 Have you followed Gallatin County any this year? If you had, then you would have known that the QB that started for that game was not the normal starter. If he has to play next week, because we did make the playoffs, he needs every look he can get at a different team. It is not like he went in and it was 50-0, and you had your JV in the game. Heck if we put in our JV, he is the QB.

Watched the game as well and didn't see much either. Guessing from your statements that your son doesn't play for BB, as their entire team might total 13 years playing experience (when did he start, at birth )?? Are you trying to say that one of the least penalized 0-10 teams in history, suddenly decided to get dirty in their last game??

 

The one incident in the entire game came late, and it was obvious who started that situation; and as usual the retaliating guy got tossed, after responding to some cheapies in the pile. Wisely the Gallatin staff got the offenders out so they could play next week. Veteran officiating crew and a one sided game, so doubtful they would let much happen.

 

He started playing when he was 5 years old in the Boone County Pee Wee league and he justed turned 18.

This is getting pretty silly!! A team goes 0-10 in their first varsity season, with very few penalties along the way, particularily those of the over agressive nature; and in the last game of the season you are accusing them of playing dirty?????? Not one person the entire year accused them of anything, and suddenly they get cheap in the last game???? Weak!!!!

 

While we're slinging accusations--Classy move by the coaching staff after the interception with about 1:30 to go (up 31-6), bringing the starting QB back in after he'd been out and trying to throw for a TD?? Good move taking him back out, and running the ball the last two plays; although they tried the hurry up to score on the last play but couldn't get the play off. Also weak!!!!

 

First of all, my son plays for GCHS...he is a sophmore and starts varsity both ways...he did get an unsporting violation for running his mouth, not too happy about that, nonetheless he was taken out of the game and did not return, coaches rule I guess...and lastly for the record GC's stating QB did not come into the game after the interception, he was on the sidelines in a cast... #2 is a running back...facts are the facts, GC's first year was 2006, we went 4-4, our first year to compete for a playoff position, 7-3...pretty good for a small school I would say...

I would agree that the Wildcats have made a positive impact in their first two years at the varsity level.

 

I think that BGG was referring to the quarterback that started the game - Bryce Carlton, and not the normal starting quarterback Jesse Florence, who has his hand in a cast. I think that he did come back in for one play late in the game - no big deal!

 

I thought that the sophomore stand-in did an admirable job under the circumstances.

 

I'm curious as to how much foundation was laid within the Gallatin County program (pee-wee/Freshmen/JV) before they went varsity?

To my knowledge, GC played 1 year of JV and now in the 2nd year of Varsity...I am not sure about the younger kids..I think most of these guys had to travel to Boone County to play little league...my son played in Louisville in his earlier years...

Congratulations to the Mustangs. It takes alot of heart and courage to fight through an 0-10 season knowing that you will probaly get blown blown out in most games. Keep lifting weights, and learning football. The program will improve.

Thought the boys played with a lot of heart thru the season. The wins didn't come, but the dedication was there and the experience will only grow. To end the season with as many football players as you started with - and with a 1st year Varsity squad - That's great! Says a lot for the players and for the coaches, and also for the parents who supported this program and their sons from the beginning. To go to a Brossart football game and to see the fans come out - cheering on the boys, whether they score 1 touchdown or not, is wonderful to see. I am excited to watch this program grow even bigger and better in the next couple of years. Congrats to the Bishop Brossart program for going that big step! Everyone keep up the good work.

The simple truth is they hadn't been there in about a month, and only six times in the previous 9 games; so maybe they ought to be allowed a little latitude?? It's got to be a long season for an 0-10 team, so to allow them to have a little fun in their last game might not be so bad--They got penalized as they should have, but that might fall into one of those "good penalties" catagory??

 

Sounds like much ado, about little, having been at this game and seeing another Brossart game this year. I'd hardly catagorize them a dirty team, in fact, they probably needed to be a lot more aggressive from what I saw.

 

Good luck to the Mustangs in their efforts to build their program, and congratulations to them for finally putting forth the effort to start a program. Also congrats to their fans for the support they showed throughout the year. Best of luck to Gallatin this weekend in the playoffs--Great season for such a new program!!
