November 2, 200718 yr No idea on his contract structure but wondering out loud, if a Jones for Griffey, possibly another Reds player, is a possible reality. If they are going to loose him, perhaps another team assuming his contract and getting something in return. Does anyone know, if he's an unrestricted free-agent? I think the Braves have till a certain date to offer him arbitration. If they don't, then after that date he is a unrestricted free agent.

No, I was under the impression that when players contracts were to end that the team the player played for had till a certain date to offer him arbitration, and if they didn't they couldn't resign him to contract until May 1st at the earliest.
